where did i go?

I'll be praying for you as well .. Not that I'm a doctor or anything, but from my experience, nipping the thing at the bud sounds like it's the right thing to do .. i.e. concentrated dose of steroid sounds right. I didn't really have any problems the 1st several months, it's the long, prolonged usage that really got on me.

yeah its only a one time thing for me hopefully so well see how it goes.

your in my thoughts & prayers.
I'm curious how have you been passing time, can you go to work?, drive?

ive been passing time watching tv and driving myself crazy with my thoughts. lots of pacing. a solid month of pacing or so, lol. funny you ask about work. i was inbetween jobs. i was actually supposed to start a new job the same week this shit went south so i actually had to forfit it becasue it was too much to try to handle AND start a new job at the same time. im on unemployment at the moment.this has given me a lot of time to really think anyhow, after i get my vision back i think im going to find a new job and also go to school. its kinda changed me into a new more positive person in a way. might have to change my user name in the future if all goes well, haha.

thanks for the kind thoughts everyone

i went to the neurologist today and he did the standard ms test with the reflexes and poking things and such. those were all good. he also told me that the chances of me developing ms are pretty low. he said that the odds of having optic neuritis and a clean MRI at the same time are pretty rare and said i have maybe a 20% chance of developing ms in the future. so im keeping my head up. this week coming im going to doing a 3 day high dose IV steroid followed by a week of oral steroid pills for my optic neuritis. its a heavy duty anti inflamatory dosage to basically quicken the process for my eye to heal. all decent news today so im feeling pretty good about it. cant do any further tests for the MS till my eye gets better because they are visual tests. ill keep everyone posted.
This all sounds VERY positive. Glad to hear it. Good to hear you are keeping your chin up and looking at the big picture too with school and stuff. These are often the times when things become more clear.

You are in the thoughts of all the 501 people. We all want for you to heal up and get back out on the trails.

Hope that it is soon Scott! Still praying for you and you are in our thoughts daily man! Take care and come back out to an Allaire ride when you can!

hahahah different kinda steroids. they will give me a ton of energy and make me very hungry but no anabolic pump lol. im afraid ima have too much energy to be able to do anything but sit on the couch and watch movies. lol.

They're gonna shrink your balls....eye balls.

Good luck and hurry back....not nearly enough ink at the Allaire rides.😉

so i had my first treatment today. kinda made me really hungry and a lot of energy. not like energy where i wanna run around the block just kinda antsy where i know ill probably have a hard time sleeping tonight. i was on the drip for 5 hours(50 ml per hour for 5 hours). i go back again tomorrow and the next day. although im going to be prepared with my laptop and movies tomorrow. i did have a tv today, but daytime tv sucks. they were awesome there as far as the way they treated me and they gave me tons of pretty decent food and snacks. so thats day one of my recovery. hopefully itll speed things up and ill be back out on the trails before summers out.

damn get well soon. i'm with you about being apprehensive with the treatments, hopefully they work out well and without adverse effects.

On the drip:rofl:
I like that. It's great that you get to do it as an outpatient and you should have next to no side effects from three days of treatment. Did they send you home with the heplock or do you need to get re-stuck tomorrow?

You know that surge of energy is sending all the little good guys in your blood to heal the affected areas. Visualize your army of healers going to work with every drip... Hokey, I know, but they say if you believe it, it will work. Feel awesome soon!

nah i opted to get restuck. id rip it out in my sleep and it really desnt hurt much so its all good. day two starts in a little bit. i got my laptop and movies with me today to pass the time. 5 hours is a long time.

Wow, I arrived very late to this thread somehow.😕

Really hope you get this sorted out soon, sounds like no fun at all.

check to see if they have wifi in the hospital...
last time I was in I found an open network I was able to surf all day and watch dvds at night...

yeah i found an open one but it wont connect. its all good, im only there for 5 hours and surfing consists of about 10 minutes normally for me anyhow. lol. i watched tv and i brought pineapple express and watched that today today. it was funny, i had my headphones on and i was laughing histerical in this quiet day stay ward. tomorrow is my last day there and than i start my pills for a week. than i play the waiting game. its kinda hard to tell if its getting better or if im just getting used to it like this. time will tell. staying positive at this moment.
