Word. The other day, someone at work said to me, "Getting old sucks." My immediate reply was, "NOT getting old sucks a lot more."😀

Glad to hear you are making positive progress, man.

haha yeah. well actually if you want to get technical its been 47 days since the pain started but 40 since the vision issues started. ill get there. this old english guy told me the other day "everyday on this side of the turf is a good day". i think when im done recovering ima get that tattooed on me, lol.

I was going through PT and ran into an older dude his quote was "as long as you are looking down at the ground instead of up at it it is a good day."
keep a positive outlook dude...

MIG - if i have taken away anything from this thread its three things:

1. sober > drugged (well, at least having to be drugged).

2. seeing > not seeing.

3. not dead > dead.

it sound like you've really been kicking your illness' butt. keep it up.

a little update. the eye is getting better but VERY VERY slowly. nerve damage is like that though. i pulled my dusty bike out of the garage and took a spin around my neighborhood. its a little sketchy, but it felt good. got off the bike and my legs felt like mush because i havnt used them at all other than moving around day to day. dont think im confident enough to go in the woods yet but maybe in another month or so. well see.

Glad to see you atleast got in the saddle! Hopefully soon you will be able to come putt around again on the tuesday rides. Take care and wish you continued positive progress mate!

thanks man i appreciate it. my patience has worn very very thin through this ordeal, so thats why i went out on the bike. sometimes you gotta do things to feel human again even if it isnt exactly the safest practice, lol. everytime i see someone zip past me on a bike or see bikes on someones roof it puts a pit in my stomach where i feel like im going to be sick because of how much i miss riding. no activity in my life has ever made me feel as alive as being in the saddle. i miss it badly, and i miss all my friends ive made doing it. soon enough ill be back though and itll be better than before i left.

glad to hear you'll be back soon. I sent you a text the other day but you never replied. Get ready to have some fun, Marty is waiting patiently😀

good to see you are still on the move I am sure you will be back soon...
keep us in the loop dude see you around..

yeah my phone was off i got it later that night my bad. haha im not anywhere near ready for that kinda ride.

Glad to hear about the progress. I was off the bike for nearly 2 years due to an illness and my wife says she was probably happier than I was when I finally got back on the bike. I can be quite the prick when I don't get to ride.

Since MIG has been mia, I will give an update. He finally just now returned a text message. He says he is feeling good and his eye is still getting better. His vision is restored to about 90%, but once he introduces some stress, like biking, things get a little sketchy. He is still waiting for things to get back to normal before he hops back on the bike.

He also said something about missing Marty rubbing his back, but I'm not quite sure what that meant😀

Hopefully he will be back on the trails soon, only to realize he is really out of shape😀😀😀

Thanks for the update, I was wondering along with the others.

Hope the good progress continues.
