Washington Valley trail closures-THIS COULD BE BAD!!!

Don't know exactly what it will say but I'd bet dollars to donuts there'll be more coverage at www.thebreezenj.com very soon...

Washington Valley trail closures-THIS COULD BE BAD!!!

I'm pretty sure the article was written last night with a much different slant and the final headline was just a "perhaps too quick" edit from how it was originally written.

Washington Valley trail closures-THIS COULD BE BAD!!!

Congrats to everyone. I have no doubt that the petition and social media pressure had an impact here. Well done. Great quote in the article from me (and I'm not Matt Moench)! :)

Washington Valley trail closures-THIS COULD BE BAD!!!

I use the park 3-4 times per week with my dog. She pees. I hold it in for the hour. I'm a grown up. My suggestion for those who can't is to do it Indurain style: in your shorts while on the bike.

Email addresses for Bridgewater's elected leaders can be found here. Perhaps it'd be helpful to ask our government representatives to speak on behalf of their constituents on Wednesday. https://www.bridgewaternj.gov/matthew-moench-president/

Washington Valley trail closures-THIS COULD BE BAD!!!

I was there about 10 days before the swimmer drowned. As I was leaving the park there was a Somerset County Park Ranger in the parking lot. I told her kids were swimming illegally in the park. She said that's beyond her pay grade; instead she was there to "investigate" a complaint of someone...

Please school me on Nassau Trail (High Bridge)

I'm getting up early and heading to Nassau Trail tomorrow morning. I'm pretty new on the MTB. When I rode at 6 mile a couple of weeks ago someone here was kind enough to "map" me out a route. I'd appreciate any route and other tips you all could provide. I'm looking to ride 6-8 miles +/-...

Newbie in Somerset County seeking other novice riders

I did the loop you suggested. It was more challenging than I expected. Either that or my skill riding wasn't what I thought it was. Either way it was a success. Fell/fell down a couple of times but never crashed. Walked over a couple of trees, over the bridge that was out and another that...

Newbie in Somerset County seeking other novice riders

Not looking for a group. Just another rider or two. Riding with another is surely safer than riding alone, no?

Newbie in Somerset County seeking other novice riders

This is my first year riding a mountain bike and tomorrow, 5/17, will be my first real ride. Going to ride trails at 6 mile run in Franklin Township (Somerset County) NJ. If there are other novice riders out there who'd like to join me tomorrow at a future date shoot me a private message.

What have you done to your bike today?

Installed her first pair of real pedals just now. After hemming and hawing in my head for a while I decided to start my mountain bike career off with flats and installed them today. I actually purchased clipless first but they will stay in the drawer for a while during which I'll get comfy...

Went on my first legit trail ride today

Took my new bike (Salsa Timberjack 27.5+) out for the first time today. It was the first time I've ever ridden a mountain bike other than up and down my cul de sac and across my lawn a bit. I live in Bridgewater and there is a small grouping of trails called Middlebrook Trail between...

Unfortunately, I just gained a lot of time to learn how to ride a MTB

I got into into bike riding in 1997 after being off the bike for about 20 years. The thing that brought me back was participating in 200+ mile charity rides, first the Boston -> NY AIDS rides and, for the last 14 years, the YSC Tour de Pink benefiting young breast cancer survivors...

Got the bike. Now I need a bike rack.

Thanks. Looks like I ought to investigate the option. I ordered the rack (Kuat Transfer 2) last night. Now all we need is decent weather and an open park!

Got the bike. Now I need a bike rack.

Why didn't I think of that?!? I don't like pondering too much. Going the hitch route (haven't decided which yet) and bought t a Kuat Transfer 2. Thanks for all replies. I look forward to meeting you all.
