OFF TOPIC:

1) I apologize to all JORBA members and volunteers who helped maintain the trails, especially 6-mile.

2) I agree people should not ruin the trails when its wet, cause I am one of those people who hate to ride on rutted trails. It just ruins everything.

3) I appreciate sarcasm and the bashing, I dont mind it cause I guess its deserving.

Norm, Frank, Alex my personal apologies to you all.

Accepted, thanks

upon reflection... I really had nothing to contribute

Your original reply was on point. His apology was well said, time to move on.

I'm sure any further pile-ons would likely be only from people who've never ever ridden their MTB in muddy conditions, and who contribute religiously to TM efforts. The dude apologized.

"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." then he had to yell at his Mom for popping someone in the coconut with a rock.

Jan 30 - 2010

Chimney Rock around the reservoir was ride-able yesterday. Everything was frozen, small ice patches and a fallen tree made the ride interesting. Saw three other riders around 3pm yesterday and a very nice old man who kept calling me 'sir' every time I passed him and said 'thank you'. Oh yeah there was a very beautiful dog as well.

Will be riding 6-mile today, hopefully the sub freezing temperatures help me from getting an@l bashed again. 😀

6 mile was a hardpack. Dusty after the ride, but it was good. I wish I had gotten out sooner than 430pm tho. Saw just one guy on the bike (looked like Soundz 🙂 ) and another guy with a pickup and two beautiful dogs. Oh yeah, dig your fork too 😉

Just saw this - appreciated but not necessary. Thanks for the recent trail reports. I have been having trouble getting out and riding every trail every day to let people know what's up. I usually only do that when it rains. I'm an outdoor paper mache artist so when it rains I have the day off work.

Lewis Morris is literally a frozen super highway. no joke. 90% of the race course is super smooth and FAST. the 10% that isn't primo is in the normal wet areas which are rutted to all hell. check that, rutten and frozen.

Monday...

Sourlands-Fast and frozen, there were a few sections with sheets of ice a few feet long/wide and un-ridable...

6-Mile Run-Some sections are getting soft and muddy, mainly on the blue trail and around the white bridge, some deep ruts in spots...

Chimney Rock-Some sections with ice across the trail, otherwise perfect!!

D&R Canal-Frozen solid and fast, you can probably ride a road bike on it right now😀

Rode around Chimney Rock (around the reservoir) twice and it was similar to the previous ride on Saturday. Still dry and some places are a little damp (by the bridge). Found someone along the trails (looked like a GaryFisher, could have been RonC in a red jersey) and thats about it. Nothing really interesting.

Central NJ today is very nice. All of the Dirt/Mud is frozen and trails are very fast. All of the water crossings are frozen over and are safe to ride.

Have fun.😀

South Jersey

My snowshoes sank about a foot into the snow drifts in my back yard and I wasn't on the ground.
Over 3 foot drifts in my yard my 2 beagles were having a hard time. I broke a path for them.

about 3" and snowing in the surrounding mooches...

I must have a hole in the sky over my house 😀

My back yard as of two minutes ago... and most of that was from the "Blizzard" we had last week
