yeah its a remarkable car. 258,000 miles and i drive it EVERY day.
in 8 years and over 150k miles put on by me i only got towed once, and it was running in under 5 minutes from off the truck. stupid cam sensor died.
i'm only on my 6th alternator too. 😛
okay so mitsu lacks in some departments

hahahah honda for the win! never had a single issue with it yet(knocks wood). abot to hit 50k on the odometer. put 5k on it in a week once driving coast to coast. lol

Here was my old passion. Still miss her but I had to move on. Spent a good 4 years of my life modifying and customizing her. Went to national events all over the country and spent many of my weekends driving to the dragstrip. Best 1/4 was 12.60@ 104 on a 100 shot of nitrous. Went 13.15@ 102 on motor.

Let's no bring up cars...

I'm a recovering car addict. That's why I ride to work and drive a Yaris. I went cold-turkey when I had my son, and one day I will return...Here are a few examples over the years of projects I've owned. They were never cars to me, they were ALWAYS projects😀

*this was "Bang Me", there is much to go on about this car, a good part of my life was dedicated to it, I don't think I could list all the work I did...

*this was Reptar...

*My first Toyota

I've owned 13 VW's mostly MK1 and MK2, but I did own a MK3 GTI (see above) and a 'Rado SLC. Then I got into lowrider trucks and Toyotas. I autocrossed for a billion years with my rabbit (see above) which I built from the ground up myself (oh to get that time back😉)

Snowboarding: I have a house in the Adk's near Gore Mountain and about an hour from Whiteface. Started skiing (???) years ago, switched to the board about 8 years ago - never looked back.

Food & Drink: I love food. My wife is a great cook, and I'm pretty good on the charcoal. I recommend the steaks from the Market Place in Roxbury. I love beer, wine and Vodka; all in moderation and not at once of course.

Music: Ever since I discovered my Dad's cream Disraeli Gears album, I loved music. Now I like everything; jazz, classical, rock, blues, not so much country. I have become a huge fan of the great crooners; Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Bobby Darin, etc. I play guitar, but not much lately - my Marshal Twin is not working and I have had not the time to fix it.

My Son: My wife and I were lucky enough to get the right egg and sperm combination. He seems to be near perfect blend of each of our annoying and endearing characteristics. I try to spend as much time teaching him about the world as possible.

I loved my MK4 Jetta before I killed it; 'had a fair amount of go-fast-goodies (eibach, bilstein, ebc, TT brakes, 'bunch 'o turbo stuff, etc). 'Never auto-crossed it...left that fun for a purpose-made race car.

And yes, I LOVE side impact airbags!

other stuff I do...

*Books: Well, I'm an English lit/writing teacher, but the passion for books was there long before the profession. I went to grad school to become a teacher instead of pursuing law school, and it was that same passion which made the decision an easy one. Unfortunately, my reading time ebbs and flows with my teaching schedule, so I'm rarely getting as much done as I did in my student days, but there is always something being read, and something else waiting. Currently reading The Undercover Economist by Tim Harford.

*Music: I'm not a musician, but the collection and studying of music has been prominent nearly as long as the book thing, and always is in the forefront. I feel very lucky to have grown up on 70's rock, to be there for first-wave stuff in punk, hip hop, hardcore, metal, and whatever else sounds exciting. Right now, it's mostly about stoner/doom/sludge stuff, some dating back to the 70's.

*Gym bouldering: I've been climbing on and off about 10 years, but the opening of a gym close to my school and home has led to weekly & biweekly sessions and some gradual development in my ability. It's still a supplement to riding, but I could see myself doing more if time was to permit. I've also done a fair amount of roped climbing over the years, but the gym has been it for the last two years or so. I love the purity, the physical and mental challenges it presents, in much the same way that I love cycling.

*Cars: Not nearly as big a deal as it once was. I began working on them long before I could drive them: First ride was 74 Vega into which my father and I swapped a Buick V6, working in our home garage when I was 16. I had a 5 liter Mustang in the 80's that I tweaked a fair bit, and then it was 15 years of VW, starting with a modest 2.0 8V Golf and moving through two 1.8Ts and a 24V VR6. I made a huge move earlier this year in jumping to a Mazdaspeed 3. If I wasn't so heavily into bikes, I'd be modding the hell out of this car. It still might get a little aftermarket love anyway.

* My wife: Many of you have cited the importance of family. This obviously is way beyond a "hobby" for all of us. My devotion to my wife is impossible to truly put into words, she's an angel sent from heaven to me.

I like welding bikes on top of each other, then riding to Fuddruckers.

I have wanted a double tall bike for some time.

I have many bikes at my disposal.. maybe I can give you a bunch in trade for a build?

Couple of my other passions.....and a chance to show why its good to be friend with a pro photog (Nathan Crisman)

Moto-X 10 years, 15 broken bones, 5 screws, one titanium rod, 2 concussions, seperated and dislocated shoulder, and probably about 100 sprains. Still the best sport on Earth.

My other passion which I have taken a little vacation from this year....
My 1967 Mustang GT, S-code, 390 4-speed.

The car stuff has kinda died down, but I used to love being Nate's pit creew for his 10sec Eagle Talon........here me and luke are putting the car back together after we painted it. Painting that car cured me from ever wanting to do body work again.
