Does this make you angry too???

wow, just reading this now. I'm glad this has settled down. As Jdog said, people have been too stressed form the aftermath of this storm, and sadly many still do not power or even homes.

Not to sound too doomsdayish, but after a week of listening to other peoples generators, the silence of the woods never sounded so good. It is my belief that riding a bike in the woods is a gift. We are the lucky ones that get to enjoy these special places. However, these woods are not just for our personal use. They are for many, including: bikers, hikers, dog walkers, trail runners, etc.

I have spent 15 years trying to work with a handful hateful hikers that think that they have entitlement over all others including trail runners and dog walkers. When bikers sound like hateful hikers, I just want to give up and cry . I wish you could step back and see the whole picture. It's all about tolerance and finding solutions: Jorba has been working on solutions. Solutions to make trails sustainable, solutions to keep trails narrow, solutions to discourage illegal trail building, solutions to educate the public, solutions to fund projects, the list goes on. If you think you have any solutions, please join us on this mission. You are our future.

There is a place for criticism on a forum, but solving a problem usually needs a solution or two. Please get involved and start negotiating with others in the bike community, the park staff, hikers, huckers, single track lovers, etc. There is much for all of us to learn including myself. Our warming planet is not getting any bigger, so maybe we can work together to protect these special places.

The Ringwood trail crew has a new e-mail address so we can keep in touch with anyone who wants to do trail work in Ringwood/Ramapo. So If you want to be included on this list for future work dates send us an e-mail. Get out and help, get input on what we do... or stop complaining.

Thanks James

So where do you get the idea that i'm accusing Pixychick of making reroutes and removing objects??? You know who Pixychick is correct?

Ok ok, stop. Everyone, just stop.

I don't want to see this thread float up to the top of the New Posts list unless there's something productive to add.

Man, the mountain biking community is blessed to have someone such as yourself representing it. Every time I read one of your posts regarding one of these issues, it further reinforces that. Many thanks for continually being the voice of reason and handling these types of issues with as much diplomacy as I think is humanly possible.

62 people so far have joined the Ringwood Trail Crew email list, Don't be left out, if you want to volunteer in Ringwood/Ramapo send an email to, RingwoodMTB@Gmail.com

Only if Gingertooth does the ceremonial chainsaw ribbon cutting to kick it off. Then we all just rush down the trail like an angry mob with tools in hand, annihilating any blowdowns in our path. Sending scared hikers and dog walkers into the tick infested beyond. So much for single track after that...

or we could do whatever you think would be proper

that is some funny shiz right there man. we should be friends after this...

It will blow over...people will forget.

You didn't use the best words to get your point across (I'm like the king if that shit) then of course since its the Internet ppl kinda attack you then you have to defend yourself. I only really skimmed this thread a few times but I'm pretty sure you said "sorry". Just get ready for someone to read this 6 months from now and call you a DH or something.

not hating on you, man. this thread ended positive, and might have something to do with the response for RW TM. that's very respectful you put yourself out there to help after this, so I'm gonna lay off the smack and STFU.

Volunteers,

We are going to try to get more of the trails open on Sunday. We need volunteers to help move cut logs and clear brush. We are going to form 2 or 3 work groups.

We are meeting at lot C at 8:30 ready to leave to the work sites at 9:00 am. We will be riding or walking to work sites, wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves. tools will be provided. Steady rain cancels. Please RSVP so we know what to bring for tools. RingwoodMTB@Gmail.com

To the Ringwood trail crew; why the hell are you removing every log or ramped log on the trail? I just rode the red trail, and it's pathetic. If you can't ride over it, then walk. There are miles of fire road if you want it easy. Seriously.
