Conditions?

hey everyone,
first off, I just joined the forums here and this is my first posting. It's great to see that a network of riders exists in this area and I'm really looking forward to hopefully joining in on some group rides and trail maintence sessions. I rode 6 Mile for the first time on Monday afternoon and have been hooked since. I've going out for a quick ride after work everyday since finding this spot. Like the posters before me have mentioned, the trails are pretty dry and I gotta say, it was a blast! I've been living in this area all my life and have only ridden at Mercer, Round Valley and Clayton. So, thanks to this site, I can add one more spot to my list. I'm planning on going out today around 2:30-3 so that I can explore this spot some more (only rode the blue trail so far). 6 mile run seems to be a good park to get the legs ready for some more difficult trails in the area (like round valley). Don't get me wrong, I love riding Mercer, but having a park with some varied terrain and consistent single track is what I've been looking for for some time now. Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully I'll be able to join in on some of the group rides and maintence sessions in the future. can't beat this warm weather! take care all, great to see that a site like mtbnj exists!

Glad that you found us and the site. You can also check out Sourlands in the area. Close to Six Mile in location but not terrain.

Hi. I was away from the central Jersey area all day, so I was wondering, how much rain actually fell today? I was hoping to get out to 6 mile tomorrow, but I wasn't sure if just a few raindrops came down or if 6 mile will need some time to dry out again. Thanks.

hey Sara... haven't seen you active here on the boards... thought the 6mile bear got you 😀

like they said you should be fine...

i rode from 6-7 yesterday and was probably the last one out there (minus the brain donor in the minivan who was still out when i left)

it started coming down, but maybe only for 10-15 minutes. if the sun stays out all day it should be okay by the afternoon (IMO)

Mega fun this AM.

Thanks everyone for weather info. Conditions were great this afternoon.

During the winter I had a lot of things that kept me away from riding, but recently I've been on my bike again, and subsequently the boards. I'm sure at some point I'll see some familiar faces around the trails.

Sorry for not sticking around long enough for the post about joining for a ride. I still went and saw a couple of faces out there. It was a glorious day and the trails were like butter: smooth and sweet when you're on a role.

The new re-routes and flow were a joy to ride. Great work on the trails! Thanks J and the rest of the participating crew.

Ill be up for a ride any morning except Saturday (dodgeball tourney in mercer park) and any day/afternoon next week.

Get out and ride!

B

Pearl you won't be so festive when we murder you tomorrow night, dudeman. :getsome:
