Conditions?

I rode the park Sunday morning before it started raining, and it was still damp and had some really bad spots. Pile on the rain we got earlier this week and I don't think it will be ready for atleast a other several days if not longer.

from jim's training thread:

conditions are:

"Perfect, except for the crazy mud-bog on the blue trail. Even the trail along the creek before the water crossing was bone dry"

the red trail is very damp and muddy still between the wide wood bridge and rt 27

stick to the orange trail

I rode Six Mile this evening. Conditions are excellent, except for some muddy spots on the red trail on the west side of Middlebush Road. I didn't ride the blue trail.

Glad to hear it's getting better day by day. I should be hitting this up sometime on Sat. I do not think it is supposed to rain between now and then...

Tonight (4/8)
Showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds. Breezy with lows in the lower 50s. South winds 15 to 20 mph...becoming west 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Hopefully it blows through here fast.

I did the whole place last night. The only mud was on the straight away coming from the lot on Jacques lane towards the canal lot, and the normal mud bog between the hill and the new bridge.
The rest is tacky or dusty....
I had a blast. The trails had me smiling the whole ride

Not sure where you see that. on weather.com i see 60% chance of rain, but sunny otherwise.

😡

Please no rain!!!

A little rain wont ruin the weekend. The trails are actually dusty in spots.

hey everyone,
first off, I just joined the forums here and this is my first posting. It's great to see that a network of riders exists in this area and I'm really looking forward to hopefully joining in on some group rides and trail maintence sessions. I rode 6 Mile for the first time on Monday afternoon and have been hooked since. I've going out for a quick ride after work everyday since finding this spot. Like the posters before me have mentioned, the trails are pretty dry and I gotta say, it was a blast! I've been living in this area all my life and have only ridden at Mercer, Round Valley and Clayton. So, thanks to this site, I can add one more spot to my list. I'm planning on going out today around 2:30-3 so that I can explore this spot some more (only rode the blue trail so far). 6 mile run seems to be a good park to get the legs ready for some more difficult trails in the area (like round valley). Don't get me wrong, I love riding Mercer, but having a park with some varied terrain and consistent single track is what I've been looking for for some time now. Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully I'll be able to join in on some of the group rides and maintence sessions in the future. can't beat this warm weather! take care all, great to see that a site like mtbnj exists!
