Opening day and there's already a rut building up on the lip, come on Hunter :getsome:
My x-wife was up there and she said the snow was really good and there was no crowd to speak of. She is a snow snob too so it must have been good.
Good sit at Bellearye Friday. The mountain had snow but not alot opened, it wasn't groomed. By after lunch the crust on the closed trails softened up and made for good skiing. Even though they had snow it looked like the staff wasn't ready for opening, should get better as time goes on.

I hit up Hunter yesterday. Not bad for this early in the season. The snow was typical east coast granular but edgable. They actually had wayout on hunter west open and some good snow could be found on the side of that. Got bored fairly quickly doing cruisers so spent most of the day in the park.
Hunters park is never too great, but we had fun. Typical jump up top with maybe a 20' deck, 2 flat boxes (one about a 30'), a fun box, and a small tabletop.
I took my first nasty spill of the season working on switch landings off the jump up top. One time my binding ejected sending me tumbling backwards down the mountain, always scary. Alyssa took a nasty one too working on her boardslides on one of the boxes 🙁 Oh well, it's good to be back and feel that pain!

Uggggg.... Gaper Week is killing me... People need to realize that the landing zone of a 30' stepdown table top is not the place to learn how to snowboard. I can't see you from above, and I'm going to hurt somebody one of these days! The holiday week can't end soon enough!

he actually slid through the seat back and seat cushion - the seat was not installed properly according to some article i read. that would be scary and mortifying. i wonder if he had bib snowpants on if he wouldnt have had the pants issue... :hmmm:
