I was about to go exchange my sons boarding gear for some new season rentals this past weekend and imagine my surprise to get a letter from Four Seasons Ski on Rt 22 that they had closed their doors for good. Sure they weren't a chain store but they were a good place to go with friendly staff. I will now be forced to Ski Barn or Pelican unless anyone has any other good suggestions within 30 minutes of Edison.I believe the entire chain went OoB. I think they had been trying to close for years.

As usual I ignored your advice and went to Pelican (East Brunswick) since they are closest to my house. They were very helpful, told me my son didn't need a new board and I should keep the one I had rented at four seasons the year before (it's now mine since four seasons was a purchase/lease thing) and rented me a pair of boots that fit him better.Avoid Pelican at all costs. Three years ago I had been eyeing up a pair of Volkl Mantra Pow Pow skis, they finally went on sale and I picked them up from Pelican. I had them mounted and was packing my car getting ready to go on a trip to Vermont when I noticed a slight problem. The idiot who mounted the bindings drilled too far into the ski and the mounting screws were breaking through the base of the ski. Needless to say the skis we're trashed and they were not replaceable. Through the entire ordeal Pelican was rather unprofessional, and in the end I got nothing out of them other than a refund... So go to them if you want to buy a hot tub, don't bother with your winter apparel.

I am looking at a Nor'Easter pass. That's good at Mt Snow, Attitash, Jack Frost/Big Boulder and Crotched. Has anyone been to Mt Snow? I'm curious how the north-facing side of the mountain is. How is the mountain overall? I'm thinking of getting a house with some friends, so any info I can get would really help.
Ok boys...
My friends were out with the splitboards this AM..
Won't be long now for me.
