the surf SUCKS

12-2p sucked. Wind came up as soon as I got there, it got all wonky, typical. Some fun ones every 30 min, kind of
 
fri am whoop whoop

3 hour sesh in the am, only two cats out. 5-6 ft, some plus sets rollin thru, super glassy, mellow drops and loooonnnnnggggg lines of fun-ness! Got a sweet tube ride to boot.
It's comin up again now too!
 
3 days of AWESOME!!!!!!!

Went out tues, a lil bumpy but easy 6 ft with bigger bombs rollin thru and only one other guy out.....YES!!!
Went out wed, 6 ft and glassy with more bombs and sneaky cleanup bombs comin in, pretty crowded but plenty of waves coming thru.....yes!!!
Went out today, 4 foot in the am and really glassy until the NW's picked up, lots of fun waves to be had and only three other guys in the water, YES x 3!!
So, in three days I've logged over 13.5 hrs of water time most in big surf, and with generally uncrowded conditions. I did more duck-diving in three days than pro'ly all winter long, lots of cleanups in this swell. I'm exhausted and feelin really lucky!!!! Hope some of u cats got on it.

I went out on wed am thinking it might be small. I brought my longboard.

Pretty interesting in overhead surf. I took some beatings but I also had some really memorable rides.
 
brief swell window coming up. i may actually have some time to get out in this one with the new-to-me board. thursday looks too windy, friday leftovers looks cleaner. i may drive down friday morning for a dp. first light is just after 5:00am. low's around 5 - 5:30am too.
 
it was fog fog and more fog this morning. couldn't even see the waves from the beach. really disorganized.

I have been hanging out with the sales manager from Stewart when I visit Cali. He said that this is their best seller at this point.

I figured I would give it a shot. I hear that it turns like a snowbaord. That was all I needed to hear.
 
got out on saturday morning. waist high with a short period between waves. i personally had a terrible sesh. i got out too late and the tide was getting a little too fat. add that with my kookness and it was just humiliating. i couldn't paddle to save my life for some reason. just wasn't feeling good. went for a short swim afterward just to shake it off. that didn't help.

also got out this morning before work. knee/thigh high mush burger conditions but i had a great time anyway. it started raining, and surfing in the rain is something else. caught a few and then had to head up to work. although it was small and kinda choppy, it was still real fun. amazingly enough, the wind from the storm didn't blow it out. great way to start the day.

water temp is good. i only have a 4/3 full suit and i went out sans gloves and boots and felt great. i'd imagine a 3/2 without gloves and boots would just as fine. spring suit temps are a comin'.
 
i can't make it down today - but go if you can. casino pier cam looks great. reports are chest high, no wind. swell should last all day. leftovers tomorrow in the waist high rang and sunday it drops a little more.
 
I had a few unbelievable waves this am.

I had been way too long since I was last out.
