Tymor

Does the course still have more climbing than wawayanda?

I'm running a 18tooth cog (29er ss), but if there is more climbing I would probably rock the 20tooth to be safe. Thanks for any input.🙂

I would like to chime in but I am not an authority at Tymor. Last time I raced there I ran that ratio and don’t remember thinking the gear was to tall. I will be using a similar ratio this weekend so I am in the same boat….as usual it’s guess and go. Good luck

Directions to Tymor?

What is the best way too get there if you coming from ringwood? And is it easy to find?

Thanks Jim. I just ordered that set up for my RIG. I might have to get off on the steepest of climbs.😉

You'll be fine, stop whining, Lance runs it on his TT bike, so why not you? You'll kill it on the fireroads!!😀

Thanks for the reports guys. Sounds like the course is basically the same as last year.

Just reporting back that although some parts are the same as last year, you do not go up that big long hill. ... horay!!!🙂

The start has some new sweet single-track, and once across the field, you enter between the rock walls but only go 50 ft up the hill and bang a right and traverse cross hill, down a steep water crossing :getsome: and back onto some of last years course. Near the end it goes onto the April 2004 course. There is still more climbing than the other races but it is not in your face as there is a lot of super fun stuff too. It is much improved in my opinion and should be challenging and real fun!!! 🙂

Sweet! Thanks again!

That big climb after the road-then-field was brutal last year.

Do you think the "steep water-crossing" would make for a nice photo op.? If so, is it far in on the course?

Being married with kids, its like Ben said the other day “you need to be creative” in finding ride time. :hmmm:

So…… dropped off Mrs. Nimrods car for service last night, pulled my Road Bike out of the back of the car...I’ll ride home😀; No big deal, 20-25 minute ride.

Nice day, la-la-la, la….. JRA’ing along………. Start making a left turn a couple miles from the house and BLAM-O!!! I’m on the tarmac. 😡 No warning, No skid, just pounded into the road = WTF?!?. Turns out there was a gasoline spill on the pavement. Stuff is slicker then ice. Yes I had a helmet on.

So picked myself up off the tarmac, checked myself out; no blood, everything that should move, still does move = good to go. Then last night… rolled over in bed = Ouch.. Shoulder, back and neck don’t feel to good, reaching for the light switch now hurts.... Lets see about Tymor now..:mad2:

ouch

Hope you feel better soon. I was never a fan of Tymor, but this year,....I'd be taking 3 alieve and racing. The climbs a doable by a shorebird like me and the Downhills would make Diablo jealous. Rediculous speed can be had on this course.

Not excited about doing 3 laps though,......the jump to Expert is a tough one.

Yes, You could skip the first half of the course and walk across the field to where the trail begins and turns left, and probably bushwhack straight up to crossing.

If that's the water crossing I'm thinking about, it's going to be a prime photo-op location. Trust me. Keep those high shutter speed and repetition shot settings handy.

I guess I'm relieved, but that big climb was my one shot at getting into the top 5.

It's kinda weird being good at climbing now but when your technical skills stink like mine do, you take what you can get.

In the lower stuff it's going to range from tough to impossible. On the climbing sections in the 2nd half it's a little wider and more manageable.

Sounds like we're in for a dirt-crit:getsome:!! I'm kinda upset about the big climb, that was my shot to place🙁
