The Garbage Heap

Good work aint cheap and cheap work aint good.

This whole site is free to you. If you think it's not good, feel free to take a hike.

Good job to the 2 of you turning what has been an overwhelmingly positive and enjoyable thread in a negative direction. Both of you participate in countless rides and have met numerous people because of the site. And when the site asks for people to give something back, this is the response?

Awesome. The community thanks you.

Soooo touchy?

OK guys just a rant that I figured you would all have perspective on in your respective careers. More or less an excuse of why I'm slacking and not coming up a cool logo. I'm totally burnt out because the industry has sucked all the creativity out of me.

I have nothing against volunteer trail work or the sticker contest and I was not trying to single out or critique anyone's design. We all know each other lets be friends. Cumba yah and all that touchy feely stuff... 😱

I didn't think Sean was serious. But I've only met him 2-3 times so I guess its kinda hard to tell. But FTR I was trying to poke fun. Lesson learned

I just told my girlfriend what Sean said and she tells me "its a VERY sore subject in this field. There are a lot of college kids coming out and taking jobs for way less money and pushing talent out". But this is in the professional field and not a contest amongst friends. Sean, she says she has CS4 and that can't be cracked........son. (The 2nd part is me poking fun at Sean a bit NOBODY else).

Sweet - my first time making it the garbage heap. I didn't even know this section existed until I was like where did all my posts go?

I have a friend with a cracked version of CS5 - anything can be done.

I like hardtails.

Dont over analyze suspension design. Just get a bike that fits you and ride the thing senseless.

Dude, don't be lazy, there is a ton of shit out there, just move the mouse hand and click. Do some research and get a little informed instead of just listening to a bunch of douchebags on the internet.

Having said this, I'll put my douchebag 2 cents in as I've done alot of reading on this, so this is just my interpretation of what I've read. I know that there are some engineers here, so their tuppence worth will be insightful. In summary, it seems that FSR and DW seem to be the best design, although the evolution of stable-platform suspension has tightened the playing field. You can curse Specialized for patenting the Horst Link, and also thank them for forcing everyone else to be more creative. The reality is that everyone has come up with creative stuff to get around the Horst Link patent or not pay royalties to Specialized.

Single pivot is the least complicated design, but probably the most reliable. Downside is it brake jacks on decents. My next bike will be another FSR or a DW bike. My friends with VPP like their bikes, I've ridden them and frankly after 5" of travel, you really need to put time on the bike to feel the difference between one design and another.

Sound advice from Wobbegong.

Careful you don't over analyze or you'll end up like Monkey Soup saying things like 5" inches in the rear are just not enough to get me going anymore!:popcorn::popcorn:

Are you speaking from experience? Is your "partner" telling you its like throwing a banana down the hallway?

With the surge in popularity of endurance racing in general, it would be a hit. I think the series needs to evolve. When I lived in MD and was racing the MASS, racers (myself included) started to get bored with the same venues & schedules year after year. They added a short track series which didn't catch on, and the endurance class/series which took off. I would go so far as to also suggest having some one off endurance races as well, such as the MASS does with the Stoopid 50 & Rattling Creek. These epic, point to point races hold a strong appeal for racers that lap races simply can't provide. We certainly have some great venues that could host them. Granted I wouldn't expect that to happen as soon as next year, but maybe the subject should at least be brouched at the upcoming promoters meetings.

No one should listen to this guy. He doesn't know what he's talking about. He walks around Vernon with an 8 pound dog on his arm and thinks he's brilliant but he's not.

That's always happening here. It's just that some folks on the inner circle are exempt.

As you can see, you've ended up in the heap again. People here can tell you that I've put myself in it before, as well as Jake, and now Steve. As you can well see, nobody is exempt. I Specifically stated that we weren't going in that direction on that thread, and you took it there anyway.
