Any mention of the "g" word was a 1 way ticket to the box....

Mostly this.

Plus, after I deleted 2 threads, you started a 3rd which is just an open invitation for the landslide to begin again.

Sorry you got caught up in it. However, if you see a riot downtown it's probably best to go watch from the mountain tops than to walk into town and observe from the side of the street.

I admit I didn't even watch the video. Was it old school VH at least?

screw u. I am very grumpy today and you ruined the nicest thing I will likely say all day today

As a designer I find letting everybody comment and design by committee a path to the worst logo/mark ever. Just saying. :hmmm:

Where's your design?

I kept them all hidden until after the deadline. Now it's just for comments/entertainment as well as to inspire a few stragglers to submit (Norm look at Sean and taps foot).

I'm not going to take direction from a populace that helped create a purple & white unicorn jersey (which I haven't actually seen in like 6 months now, no surprise).

Walter wore his to White Clay yesterday... I was going to wear my kit but didn't want it to look like we were a couple

I've been busy making a living as a designer - if I worked for free or the fun of it like everybody thinks - I would ruin my market value.

Most common heard request: I have this small business idea - can you just knock out a logo for free while you watch TV one night - it will be fun for you.

We should start charging you for bandwidth. Our market value is worth something. 🙄

There was a possible $400 of cash & prizes for the winner. That's not free.

I'm not a big fan of crowd sourcing. Call me jaded after working in the industry for almost 20 years but I'm tired of all these hobby designers that got themselves a cracked version of the Adobe creative sweet willing to do anything for $10 an hour because it's fun and cool to be a designer. They cheapen the services I provide. With my education and experience I offer a premium service at a premium price but you get what you pay for.
RANT over. 😀

My favorite historic quote/story: Henry ford was having trouble with his generators in his factories. They called a specialist in to fix them and he did it in one day and promptly charged them $10,000. Ford commented that it only took a day to fix how could it cost so much? The specialist replied that it only cost $1000 but $9000 for his 15 years experience to be able to fix the generators in one day. Lesson learned.

I sure as hell am no hobby designer. I do this for a living as well. I charge A LOT more than $10.00 for my services. I also bought my Creative Suite for 1800.00 or what ever it was, as well as the extra $500.00 every time a new version comes out.

I participated in this because I wanted to give back to this community the same way many of us do when we volunteer our time for trail maintenance sessions with JORBA. Plus Norm told me my participation was mandatory.
