Tgh #2

Clearly u mean biking. XC skiing OTOH...

I will be in the SS roadie plodding along Berkshire valley rd. Maybe.

As morning broke there was thunder in the valley and a faint trace of brimstone in the air. Then they went to their windows and as far as one could see the snow was splattered with the remains of the dead and dying..............see ya in the am bitches......................

xc aint happenin 2mrw man🙁

how did this ride derail...i was startin to believe the hype. i feel like i did when i found out there was no santa🙁

I'm gonna have to stay local also tmw, possibly kittatiny, to see how the ss rolls in the snow.

I live adjacent to Wawayanda. Just measured 8 inches of snow on my deck. Good luck tomorrow. I'll probably be snowshoeing or xc skiing.

😡no biking for me...still in the office and rebuilding server. BTW, Microsoft support sucks😡

have fun guys!

I am going to head by the meeting point, say hello , see if I can even ride in this. I can't do any 4h ride or throwdown so I will just be there to say good morning. I am also going to toss my xc skis in the car in case the bike is a no go.

Syncroscat, sorry you can't come but I do understand not wanting to travel to ride in these conditions.

Heidi

Well I got up late, had to chip away at the ice on my bike rack, drove to Wayway only to find the front gate locked.....:hmmm:

But hey it was a nice morning drive......I guess next time it would be a good idea to exchange cell #s

Wayway gets hit harder then most of the parks in the region - more snow and knocked down trees making winter riding there interesting.

Did you guys get a ride in?

I'm heading up to Bear Mtn for some outdoor ice skating with the family....

Brett was there at 8, not sure who else showed. I had to take my lil one to the dr's this morn, but I may try to get out and enjoy it.

I was wondering how the conditions were going to be up there. I opted to crank out some Patriots Path miles out to Ralston and back on the roads since it was getting chilly quickly. 40 miles in 3 hrs. It was a good day.

My wife and I went for a snowy hike and saw what appeared to be two sets of bike tracks on the new Plymouth Lane trail. I'm guessing Dave (Panhead) met Brett and gave him a tour. Here are a couple of photos to give you an idea what it looked like today. It really was amazing. It stayed cold and the wind didn't pick up...so the snow remained on the trees and rhododendron.

Hey! I was just there as well (got home around 3 PM) with my son. Did you have a car with both a rear rack and a roof rack? We saw that car, and were looking for another rider on the trails but never spotted anyone.

It was gorgeous today, but a little tough to ride. We packed it in early. It was only flurrying when we hit the trail but it really came down fast!

Back on topic....the ride is still on tomorrow for everyone? (I am meeting syncroscat from womens at the same time as this ride) .what *does one do when the snow keeps getting caked in the shoes and pedals. I just have regular spd's not egg beaters.

Thanks, Heidi

I was there from 9-2 parked at the ranger station in a green contractor van. Had a real good ride.Hope to make it out there again next saturday.

Nice pics Tool i was wondering if you could even get get thru the trails with the snow on the branches.

Yep, that was our tracks. I was running late to start, mainly because I never thought to look if my Lakes had cleats on them. I wasn't to worried about not catching the Horde in the snow could easily find them in the snow. Ended up meeting Heidi and Brett a little after 8, Heidi took a few pics and off went the 2 man Horde. Didn't get as much ground covered as I wanted to. The snow wasn't to deep in the woods, but still a lot of pushing. I would put this ride in the top 5 for the year. When the snow either melts or freezes harder there will be a redux.
Going to get a set of platforms, the snow on bottom was wet so as soon as you walked in it the cleats got clogged with ice, same with the pedals.

How many miles did you guys log? I hit kittatinny later in the day and every trail was blocked with snow leaning trees. Cool riding though, my first snow ride

I don't even think we hit 10. The rhodedrens(sp) killed us, hanging right in the trail all loaded with snow. Our helmets and backs were full of snow, no worries of over heating. Weather's been good up here all day really hasn't gone above 30. Lakes are starting to ice, I was hoping that would hold off until after the New Years.

Fuel for the Ford...$4.50, Megadeth CD.......$8.99, meetin up w/ the Panman for a 4hr hikeabike thru frosty, snowy, slushy mud............freakin priceless!! Thanx again D for the company and the trail tutorial😀
