Nah, I can't go, but I saw them at Starland in 2005 when Joey had just come back to the band. The show was in-f&$king-sane! One of the two most crazy shows I've ever been to (the other was Slayer at Starland).
They actually filmed that night for the Alive 2 DVD.
Anyhow, the show should be awesome, I'm sure.
The band is great, and the venue is great.

I didnt make it to the Slayer show at Starland, but they are one of our accounts. I knew damn well Slayer was playing that night and when I was at work that morning saw that Starland was to get a delivery, I jumped all over it. I planned it perfectly, got there around noon. The tour bus was there as well as the 3 full blown 18 wheelers carrying all the stuff.

The delivery entrance for Starland is the same entrance that the bands use to get to the "dressing rooms". I didnt get to see any of the guys from the band, they were still sleeping on the bus, but I did hang out for a bit and watched the crew pretty much disassemble Starland Ballroom and then set up all of Slayers stuff. The drum kit was already up on the risers and they wheeled Kerry and Jeffs guitars right by me. It was cool. I dont get excited over seeing famous people as I am really good friends with Darryl Dawkins. This made me pretty excited.

I was bummed I missed the show, I have several friends that are cops in Sayreville, they worked the show and said it was absolute mayhem.

Me and Kerry King have the same birthday.

I am typing this while listening to NJ's own Ripping Corpse.

I saw Anthrax/Testament/Death Angel at the Electric Factory in Philly last night, Awesome show!
My buddy got hooked up with all access passes so we could come and go as we pleased anywhere! That's the only way to see a show!

Nice! I'll post up about the starland show tomorrow.

Happy Metal day every one of us.

Anthrax murdered it at Starland Saturday night. The pit was insane, they gave big shout outs to the Old Bridge Metal Miltia calling this their hometown show. Somehow i made it to the front, avoiding being crushed. There were people from their teens to their 50s out there mixing it up.
Truly memorable for me. I'm glad I remembered earplugs!

Here's Madhouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW47pCTAMOY
And here's Scott's wardance pep talk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKmOyi7eQjA
Good times!!!

I need to burn down Starland so bands have to play somewhere else. I refuse to go to that place again, I fucking hate it. Clutch has played there for the last 2 years and nowhere else, so I missed the shows. LAME

why the hate for Starland? Did you get beat up there when it was guido Hunka Bunka?????😀

I heard Anthrax played some old stuff including Metal Thrashing Mad and Medusa. Good times.

How was Death Angel? Did they play "Im bored" for 45 minutes? or did they play some other stuff?

Did Chuck Billy wear shorts long enough to conceal his nuts???

What is to hate about the place?
I love that venue. It isn't too big, not too small, and the sound is great.
For one, it isn't in the city (I hate dragging ass into the city for shows. Especially mid-week ones).

Starland is great for me because it's 10 minutes from home.

I missed Death Angel. We got in while Testament was playing. I didn't see Chuck's nuts but he can rock a mean air guitar.

Anthrax played a some of the new tracks (I gotta get that new record) along with a bunch of pre John Bush classics including Medusa, Metal Thrashing Mad, N.F.L., Indians, Caught in a Mosh, Madhouse, I am the Law, half of I'm the Man with the crowd singing it. They finished by playing the beginning of Whiplash.
A place like Starland is made for Anthrax.

#1 - Ticketmaster. I will not give those fuckwads a fucking DOLLAR of my money
#2 - Pay for parking? WTF it's in the middle of fucking nowhere.

I'd rather drive a little bit further and go to the Stone Pony, or go to the city.

Hmmm, not sure you point #1 is an argument against Starland. If you don't give Ticketmaster your money, then your choices are going to the box office to get tickets, or not going to shows at all. And if the venue is in the city, then you'll pay just as much (or more) in tolls & parking just to get to the box office.

The toll to cross a river is justified. Charging that much for what they do is completely retarded. Out of all the shows I go to all year, Starland is the only place that uses ticketmaster. I drove down there 2 years ago to pick up tickets to see Hot Water Music on their reunion tour. HWM stopped playing mid set because one of their goon security guards got in a fist fight with one of HWM's roadies for stage diving across their lame goon filled barricade.
