Post your BooBoo's

Dealing with what seems to be very mild calf strain today probably from kicking off more cross training off the bike with the speed rope 2 days ago.

It doesn’t hurt or bother me when I walk or any other time just a little tender to the touch.

I didn’t feel like I overdid it the other day but and last week was totally fine after I was done. I even felt like I got into a good rhythm again spinning the rope continuously.

Got it wrapped and icing it on and off. Time to go be lazy and watch some more Netflix I guess.

Ordered a few calf compression sleeves too. Sigh.

Hoping the big band aid works. Otherwise my wife will be really pisssed at what our sheets look like in the morning.
I haven’t used these but remember seeing an ad for something like it.

I know that music! At least your offering of blood to the trail gods has been fulfilled. Smooth sailing from here on out id guess.
Go back to regular clip in pedals. We’re old.

This past Saturday I got woken-up by a severe dead ache in my right hip. Managed to get back to sleep and by the time I got up my whole right thigh was numb. Just in case I went to in to see the Doc Monday, and the official diagnosis matched my internet-schooled-layman-analysis - impinged lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. So I now have a whole new family of stretching exercises added to my daily routine, plus I'll spend all of next week swimming in the Bay!

Oh, and I cancelled the sage-smoke-blowing Shaman my wife suggested I get...

happened at six mile of all places. Pedal hits an immovable object, bike stops, I don’t.
Good thing it happened infront of a couple of people so my ego was equally bruised. Have a bunch of bumps and scrapes but these were the most photogenic. That calf is a weird one.

Pedal hits an immovable object,

That is on my list for this fall - get rid of those logs lurking in the tall grass.

Second one is weird - might be one of the 6MR monsters tried to grab you but saw the others and retreated.
Heal up!

Thanks buddy. This happened last Monday actually and I was walking wounded at work through Wednesday but felt fine by Thursday. Back on the bike Saturday (chimneyrock) and Sunday (alamuchay) and got retribution at six mile yesterday. May have been a monster because I can’t see what my pedal hit.
Enjoy the day

Ooooh, ooooh, I got one of those too!!!! Mine happened misjudging a not-so-steep steep. Just took a totally bad angle, panicked (my nemesis) and went OTB. Landed on my right side (which I never do) onto what I believe to be a rock. Thankfully have taken to wearing some form of elbow protection lately. My knees are hating me for the neglection, but thankfully that's all road rash stuff.

First thought the next couple of days was that I tore my triceps. Fortunately that's not the case. It's a weird spot given how I fell. My belief is that I blew a vein from the impact, guessing the same could be for your calf. Just be on the look out for signs of a clot (overly warm, diffuse swelling, sharp ache, shortness of breath if it travels).
I've been putting arnica on mine (it's 4 days old), so hopefully it will get better soon. Give it a shot.
