I was planning on waiting to pick this up (and buying from a Record shop), but then Amazon dynamic pricing dropped $8

Edit: to be clear, I still do a lot to support Record stores.
On one of my last stops to the local, dudeman asked “are all these for you?”
#Awkward
I stopped going weekly.
For the most part.
Kick out the jams (the song) is the outlier to Punk
As black sabbath (the song) is to heavy metal

This show/album has been on my radar for a bit.
Ironically reading a book about PJ kicked it into reality.
Without hearing a track I knew it was vinyl worthy.

An important band at their peak, live.
Powerful stuffs.

I always have a small bluetooth speaker when I ride alone. When I ride with people, never. Loud enough for me, and noone else can usually hear it. Headphones are a no go, because I do like to hear my surroundings. My tastes change every day, but these days, I have been listening to Gaslight Anthem, Dave Hause, Marc Broussard, Frank Turner, and Streetlight Manifesto.

Are you Reading a book about PiJamas ? I like PJs but only because they’re connected to sleep, as in PJ makes me sleep and I love to sleep!

I can honestly say I have not heard any songs in those 3 genres. Didn't know the 1st one even existed

Sorry I missed this-
Pearl Jam- Not For You

Finished that, and now reading the Beastie Boys Book

Really great- pretty much follows the course of the movie,
you just get more from the book than they could fit into the film.

So this is what me and the neighbors listened to last night:

Reading the Beastie Boys Book, I just covered the chapters on this album:
69B6A771-9691-45BC-9E0E-40C1DE7916F2.jpeg
Fun listening to it after learning a bit more about it, and digging through the archives of allllll the samples.
Aside from being probably my favorite album of theirs, it’s the only one I have on vinyl.
I may or may not have changed that situation last night.
Stay tuned.

Along those lines, someone at Amazon Prime is pushing for music docs- must be something Netflix doesn’t have covered, because they have a shit ton of them.
They are all in my Watchlist.

Like the classic album series, which goes behind the scene on the making of, like this one:

6AAB7CB0-3026-4287-A0F9-63CADD2C7856.jpeg
This is a personal favorite.
Lots of great memories attached to this one, it saw heavy rotation when I was bartending.
Again, knowing the story behind the making only adds to the enjoyment.
Next time I post this, it will likely be in vinyl format.

And if this is at all on your radar, check the A-Prime doc on Creation Records label. Really fun story of the time when they ruled the UK.

What me and the neighbors are enjoying tonight is brought to you by @TimBay

Question Mark and the Mysterians.
Great stuff, but funny thing-
It’s a 12” 45rpm disc.
On first listen, I played it at 33 and didn’t notice until the final track (which I have the 45 of) that the timing was off. Lol

A few things occur:
1) it actually works at 2/3rds speed
B) whoever is writing lyrics has been hurt in love. a lot.

Played at real speed:
C) there’s a lot of Iggy’s delivery here. I wonder if it was an influence.
Edit:
4) I was first introduced to this by the soundtrack of Stephen King’s Cat’s Eye.

Tonight’s jam is the second half of this box set.
D01BBB51-8CA4-442C-A01E-A5E494F73122.jpeg
It’s the 50th anniversary release of re-issues of their first 3 albums.
In cool red, white and blue vinyl.

This was really my intro to them
(SaD, I know)
But even sight unhead, I knew it was vinyl worthy.
Not at all disappointed.
