Irene. Worst ever?

My foundation must have burst open or something. Between 4am and 7am I got 4 inches of water in my fucking bedroom.
I lost a LOT of stuff. I've never gotten water in here before. Some wet spots in really bad winter rain but never in my room. I tried for an hour to keep up with the water and gave up. I got out maybe 200 gallons with a strategically placed high hp huge shop vac. I lost.
All of my furniture is shot, bed, computers, tons of clothes, all my camping and outdoor gear. Fucked.

Dude that sucke so bad sorry to hear that

Got a sump pump from my neighbor. He kept his old one with noisy bearings. Rigged it up ghetto style and its pumping good. Water level isn't really moving though, hmm. Photos in the useless thread. Posting from phone

That sucks, Luke. After talking with you at Mooch, I figured you'd be in good shape.

What's keeping me sane is that at least I'm not as bad off as fft. I don't have the sea to contend with. Keep Fighting it man

I live right at the base of the mountain bellow chinmey rock. The water was rushing down the mountain on vosseller ave then turned onto my street turning it into a river. Everything is covered by mud. My sisters car has debris packed up under it. The other pics are off of 287 looking over the milstone river and the canal. Its pretty bad and only going to get worse before it crests.

6 inches and counting in the basement right now. No sump pump since the power is out. River is expected to crest over 17 feet tomorrow so the basement is likely to end up filling up completely. Had to kill the main breaker since it's down there. It's likely I won't have power for days.

We'll see if my house becomes an island tomorrow. Either way, it's a complete Effing disaster right now with all the shit I moved yesterday.

Cooking food on my backpacking stove 🙂

Good luck everyone!

We still have about 8 inches of water or so in the basement. Doesn't seem to have anywhere to go at the moment.

Sorry to hear about the guys who actually got it bad.

-Jim.

Damn Jim that blows.
Want to use my rigged sump pump? Can get you down to about 3/4 inch. Have an extra shop vac too. Going to my mom's in Cranford in a bit I can drop it off.

this (minus the not having water)...

and in light of the major suckage you guys are dealing with I'll give Jim a pass on the tshirt jokes...

I'm not sure if it's related, but this is the only t-shirt I own that creaks😉

PS-I just went down to get some tubulars and the water is now below the platform. Another couple hours and it'll be gone, thanks for the offer.

-Jim.
