Have Lights List

Those look pretty awesome. Super light. Add them to my comparison list! They got good reviews on mtbr.com. You going to get them, Jim?

I recommend paying attention to the Lumens of the lights you are considering. I have a now old NR Blowtorch which I use on my bars. I back that up with a Danolite 160L LED helmet light. (don't confuse it with the Dinotte)

That 160L light is no where near adequate for MTB rides by itself. That Arc & Motion light is only 180L. IMO, you need more if you are using just one light. I was speaking to the owner of a Light and Motion Stella last night. While he said it was a good light for the price, he also said it is not enough when he is really bombing and the burn time is suspect.

I highly recommend going through this info on MTBR. They have spent countless hours researching light systems and supplying tons of info.

If I were in the market for lights, I'd be peepin these:
DiNotte

Cheaper and brighter.

The Dinotte stuff looks cool but only gets a 2-hour burn on the highest setting...All of my team last year at Allumuchy ran these, you have to carry batteries with you or you're beat. The more I read and do research, the more I like the Stella 180L (still) and the Princeton Tec Switchback2, the latter has a longer burn time and a car charger.

PS-FYI, this is as a helmet light

PPS-I've done all my night riding with a 10W Halogen Marwi headlight which is something like taping a flashlight from the dollar store to your helmet so even the worst LED light on the market will be a HUGE improvement!!

Switchback 3...

I ended up getting a Princeton Tec Switchback 3. I was going to get a 2 but they are sold out. My main reason for getting that over the Light and Motion are the people over at PT, they are awesome!! Plus they're doing support at Allumuchy so if I have any issues I can "smack a bitch" in person. It seems cool so far, I plan on "getting lost after dark" sometime this week to test it for realseys😀

Awesome. I am going to test the PT2 tonight if the stars are aligned correctly. I also hd a lame marwi and well, I could find my way better with one of these:

Light

I would strongly recommend investing in any of the new Lupine Lighting Systems. My Betty 6 is just insane. Totally blows every light out of the water. Unquestionably the brightest lights out there. Well worth the money. I cant tell you how many Niteriders I've gone through within the last 5 years. German quality all around. No joke, if I rode Allamuchy this weekend I might actually win because everyone else would go blind.

I have a light and I love to ride at night, especially in the winter.

lupine is a great way to go for lights. i've had my nightmare halogen set up for about 5 years now and they have been awesome! they are pretty much outdated now; the l.e.d. stuff is much better; but my light puts out a searing 455 lumen! quite bright and the li-ion battery lasts well over 3 hours on 1 charge. i run the light on the bars and dont really need a helmet light, it lights up everything. as of late my light has been put to a good deal of use, now that i have discovered a good deal of trail network right out my back door (almost). i live in budd lake so that might give you a hint as to which trail system. 2 minutes of road----20+ miles of mt. biking! nice! No car involved!

So no more warranty on HID lights sold from this point on from L&M then😕

I doubt that highly.

L&M has better service and support than the other guys. That is why i switched.

The new seca lights will work with the old batteries.

HID is what i am riding but I am betting that I will want a seca for sure.
