Cathedral Pines

31 spots left!!!! Get on it peeps! Remember, there will be walk up registration, day of, for CAT1/Pro only.

Just remembered...

I already registered for this as an ambitious goal to look forward to after physical therapy and spending two months fixing my house.:duh:

Guess I better hurry up and start practicing riding for six hours...😱

Pumps are fine. The idea is that you are not allowed to have a "back up" bike to jump on in case of a serious mechanical.

We are just trying to make things more typical to what most would expect at a USAC event.

Does that include, say, having spare wheels in the pit area (maybe useful as a single speeder)?

Also, dont suppose there are any left over t-shirts from last year available for purchase? Id definiely pick up a few extra if there were?

Hey John welcome back and nice to hear that you are all well now and back in to racing again. See you in Something Wicked.

12 spots left!

Will look into it.

USAC rules state that you may repair the same bicycle you started with during the race in your pit area. Work is to be completed by the racer only!!! All parts are fair game with the exception of frames and forks.

Spare wheels are fine!! :getsome:

2009 tshirts are long gone. We had no idea there would be so many racers. We only ran 50 last year. This year there are shirts for all (long sleeve) as well as some other merch/prizes we are pretty psyched about!!

This is from 2010 USA Cycling rule book

6D. Feeding and Technical Assistance

6D1. Feed/Technical Assistance Zones are permitted in the following events: Ultra-Endurance Events (Marathon, 6-hour, 12-hour, 24-hour events) UCI Cross Country (XCO) events (UCI classes only) Cross Country National Championships for the UCI classes (Pro men, Pro women, Junior 17-18 men, and Junior 17-18 women). Note that when the category 1 junior 15-16 year old juniors are on the course at the same time as the category 1 junior 17-18 riders, they will also have access to Technical Assistance Zones.

6D2. Authorized technical assistance during a race consists of repairs to or the replacement of any part of the bicycle other than the frame and fork. Bike changes are not permitted and the rider must cross the finishing line with the same handlebar number plate that he had at the start.

6D3. Technical assistance and feeding shall normally only be given in the feed/technical assistance zones. Physical contact between the feeders/mechanics may only take place in these zones. However, technical assistance may be given between teammates outside of the technical assistance zones subject to the limitations of 6D2 above.

6D4. Each feed/technical assistance zone must be located on flat or uphill sections which are slow and wide enough for the purpose. The zones must be long enough and reasonably evenly spaced around the course. Double feed/technical assistance zones are recommended.

6D5. For Olympic format cross-country events (XCO) 2 zones will be set up. For marathon format crosscountry events (XCM) at least 3 zones or opportunities for feeding/service will be set up.

6D6. Team staff working in the feed/technical assistance zones must wear team clothing identifiably similar to the clothing of the riders.

6D7. No rider may ride backwards on the course to reach a feeding/technical assistance zone. Any rider doing so will be disqualified.

Didn't see anything about racers being the only wrenches.

Read section 6B. Repairs are to be completed by the racer. Granted, I'll give you your example. Your "team wrench" may make repairs for you in your pit area.
IMO (as an ultra endurance racer myself) if you show up to a 6 hour with a team mechanic, methinks you are over thinking this format 🙂
