Cathedral Pines

It is what it is, indeed.

But next year they can find somewhere else to advertise.

Everyone needs to take a page out of Maddawg Mike's Handbook for Running a Race.

Don't worry about it Norm, if they make one exception that would open up a ton of other me-toos. It is a legit reason why I can't do it, but where would it stop?

They are a good group of guys and they put on a good show, like I said I'll be back next year and my number will go around at least once.

Whoa, whoa whoa!! Just seeing this now!! Please excuse the delay as, on top of being wicked race folk we are also husbands, parents, business owners, teachers and prostitutes.

We love Joisey and wouldn't have an injured racers wish go unheard. Transfer granted. Please email the pertinent info to us.

You rock Havoc! All my training is leading up to this race. It was a blast last year and should be even better this time around. Can't wait!

Big thanks to Norm for stepping in and having the guys take a further look into their emails!

Can't wait for next year when I'll be rolling it again.

IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!

We are adhering strictly to USAC rules. There will be USAC official(s) at our race. To avoid any misunderstandings race day..... To compete as CAT 1 you MUST hold a CAT 1 license and present it at check in. You CANNOT "elect" to race CAT 1.

For a racer to become CAT 1 they must:

- Race CAT2 and finish top 5 in 5 races and REQUEST an upgrade from USAC.

- Submit a resume to USAC and request an upgrade based on race history.

We love you all, but be advised there will be no favors or "looking the other way" at the race.

We take USAC very seriously are looking to follow all rules which are available to everyone to peruse here http://www.usacycling.org/news/user/story.php?id=4220

There will be Pro racers competing and they, as well as all others, certainly want all race information submitted to USAC to be accurate and within the scope of the rulebook.

Looking forward to all the pain you are sure to endure. Hell Awaits..........

No offense or insult intended folks! We have a lot of inexperienced racers here at home and want to ensure everyone understands what is going to happen! Looking forward to seeing you all!!!

What category do the pro racers sign up for? As far as I see there's only open SS that they could register in correct?

Cat 1/Pro

For the sake of simplicity, Pro/Cat1 is combined.

Thanks for the tip on the oversight! Issue corrected!

We need to be clear about race support. Can we use parts/tools that we are not carrying? Can we switch bikes?

I once was disqualified in the first lap of an endurance race for using a floor pump I had in the pit. I'm pretty sure they have changed the rules but I'm not sure.

From USAC rules:

6B3. Racers shall complete the entire event (or individual stage) on the same bicycle upon which the event was begun

6B5. all spare parts and tools shall be carried by the individual racer, to be used only by that racer; cannibalizing other bikes is not permitted. A racer can only use spare parts or tools that he/she started with at the beginning of the race.

Yeah thats what they state on the event website.

If you have a mechanical you can't fix you'll have to bike-jack another rider without the offcials seeing you and ride on. 😀

IMPORTANT USAC NOTE REGARDING USE OF MULTIPLE BIKES
Those of you who raced last year may remember that we made an amendment to the official USAC cycling rules and allowed racers to use more than one bicycle. This year there will be no such amendment.

Racers WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO USE MORE THAN ONE BICYCLE.
What does that mean? It means you MUST use only the bicycle you start the race with.

Racers or prohibited from "cannibalizing" other bikes to fix/repair their race bike.

well, like I said, be careful in the pit then. I need to check, I thought that they made an exception to the tool rule (no pun intended) for endurance racers...

Ya they did but its only for 24 hour races according to the site. Thanks for pointing this out. I hope bottles arent considered tools 😛

Pumps are fine. The idea is that you are not allowed to have a "back up" bike to jump on in case of a serious mechanical.

We are just trying to make things more typical to what most would expect at a USAC event.
