Cathedral Pines

da 9

Cathedral Pines is on!! It looks like The VTC President will be driving out in the am on Saturday with the CHO. VTC Prez is shooting for 9 laps.:getsome:

Nine would be nice. The CHO will be giving me splits to keep me on pace and rocking the feed zone. If there are no machanicals it might happen:hmmm:

After our VTC session at Stewarts (4hrs.) I felt fine the next day, and I'm ready to roll with the new secret weapon. See ya Saturday (it should be good).

Yours Truly BB's,

da Prez.

lame a$$ tire topic...

small block 8 sounds bout right for the rear wheel at least, might need more knobbies up front for the loose stuff in the corners. last time I wuz there it was all sand and loamy soil, no mud pits or rock gardens. anyone ride the race course recently??

Sorry Chainsaw, try it again.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: 90's rap kid rap sensations "Kris Kross" will be playing at the VTC after party in the hamptons. They will be repeating a live performance of their hit single "jump" off their multi-platinum album "Totally Krossed Out". And, yes, they will still be wearing some of their clothes backwards.

VIP ONLY

Don't assume the course will be identical. The weather will be more cooperative this year, which will speed up lap times. Be sure to bring some cash with you as we will have Ibex beanies(with embroidered SWE log), alt. tee shirts and hoodies!! Looking forward to torturing you Joisey boys/girls!

Help with Strategy for a First Timer

OK here goes:popcorn:
This is my first endurance event and I'v done only a couple of CAT 3 races.
My goals for this are:
  1. Have Fun
  2. Finish the Entire Event
  3. Don't come in DFL
I know I'm not gonna get any fitter than I was a week ago. I've been riding steady, but only "training" for three and a half weeks.
I've done alot of reading on the topic:scared: and have even developed some of my own theories:scared::scared:
I also know that what works for some, might not work for all....
But,
Any of you seasoned veterans have any last minute pointers regarding do's and dont's?
It would be much appreciated!

John, are you racing with anyone you normally ride with? Myself and Capers are going to pace each other and try to hit our goal of 6laps (me crossing the line first and completing the SS race sweep of Capers). IMO a "race" like this for us first timers its not so much about being DFL its more about reaching the goals you set and having a good time...and staying healthy

As far as food I've heard from a very reliable source its good to have some solids as well as gels...and leave a treat for your last lap like Kandy Kakes or something. I'll prolly have PB&J halfs for me and my buddy along with some boiled red potato halfs w/ honey mustard and salt to dip in. Nice and quick pit stops, you don't want your legs to think its over before its over na mean son...

Dustin, I think your goal should be 7 laps! As long as you can start your 7th lap by 5:59:59, all should be good.

I'm having trouble picturing how you carry honey mustard with salt. Do you smear it all over your beard?
