Beginner Rides?

Been watching the thread.
Roads seem to be a big problem (poles still coming down, sinkholes, etc), so I kinda need to hear what that's like before I try to hike up there Fri.
Also if the trails are bad on Thurs please post. If slick I won't be able to ride.
I wouldn't mind maintenance.
Thanks, I'll let you know what I will do.

Any definite decision for a ride Friday? I see the state parks have re-opened. I can also ride Monday (maybe Sunday later afternoon) if that helps. TM is cool too, though I definitely want to get a workout in, even if it's a road ride. Maybe we should check out the other threads to check park conditions.

Just got power back today - yay!!! 🙂

OK--so here's the plan. Tilcon Lake Iron gate meet. I'm going out at 3:30 w/those who can come to ride and do some TM. I think we should avoid the Lake and go up the road and in.
We will swing back to meet "the new girls" at 5:00p. We can surley get some good riding in one way or another.
I think Stephens is the safer bet right now --next time DP....

Sounds great. See you tomorrow at 330. I'm bringing the SS...😀

Let's get a little mud on the tires!

As long as the roads aren't closed and I can get there, I'll see you all for 5pm (see your private messages). 🙂

It's Kinney Rd off Waterloo Road.(No sign for Kinney). Look for jorba field, turn there,go over bridge, and gate is on the left. Will pm my #.

How were the trail conditions? didja go up on the mountain? Around the lake?

Two words: KILLER MOSQUITOS!! 😱

Huge thanks to Pedals and Ski for leading such a great ride today, you girls rock (special thanks to Ski for dealing with my insane chainsuck). I think I earned myself that beer...and ice-cream sundae too!

We went up the road into pink, which was very ride-able. Dry but messy. We stayed mostly lower and did a bit of TM. There's a few small trees down that we couldn't move. We rode by Tilcon Lake just to get a peek, and turned around at the 1st swampy area. It's to be expected there. We will all be doing our fair share of cleaning as we go. It's just the beginning of hurricane season.

Great to meet you girls today--you both did great and hope ride again soon!!
Thanks to you, too Robin !!!

Ohhhhh--the mosquitoes sucked--literally !!

Yeah, thanks Pedals and Ski for great lessons on riding. Definitely builds confidence and knowledge to have someone tell you technical details and experiences, and show/explain how to ride things 'cuz I wouldn't've done that stuff by myself, I would've gone about it the wrong way.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think my pent-up driving anger had something to do with my "try it, whatever" attitude about some obstacles too. :getsome:

Small group was perfect, 1:1. Let's do 6 Mile
