Ride 14/31. Rain and mud shortened ride at creek. Trails were closed till around 11:45 due to the storm damage. Had my bike cleaned and all bearings changed yesterday. Look like the second picture after the first run. Worse is I scratched my kashima on the left stanchion of my fork. About an inch long. Linear near the top end of the stroke. I can only thing a small pebble in the mud got lodged in my dust wipe and scratched when it compressed?

After this past week of chaotic work calls and escalations nearly every day Including all morning I really needed to get outdoors today. Met the WFH crew after dropping off yet another useless call where everyone was saying what should be done but no one taking any ownership.
Hit the roads and we did one of the usual lunchtime loops and traded off some hammer sections my legs had a lot of kick to them today. Wished I had more time but had to get back to work. No time for picture today.
Hoping for a long ride tmw if I get enough sleep tonight.

The unforgivable has happened. My AXS battery died and I swapped it out mid-ride 😱
Weather tricked me. I was all set to record a few scenes and then the sun went away. Ugh. Tomorrow doesn't look any better with 90% t-storms all day long. Might have to do a midnight ride or something.

Day 15 was a race. MASS series Escape from Granogue. It was hot, humid and flat out slick in spots. Wet roots and rocks had me hitting the deck 5x. My personal opinion, this is the best all around race course in the area as it has a bit of everything. Yes it's on private property and can only ride it 2x a year. Another chance in Sept and it runs the opposite direction. Did Endurance SS and got on the top step of the podium. Ended up there all by myself during awards.

Thunderstorm rolled in while at 6MR. I’m going to hell for this one. Somehow still clouds of gnats in a downpour.
Rode circles in the parking lot in rain like a clown to hit my hour.

If you heard someone cursing at 6:50am around morris county it was me because I set my alarm for PM and not AM today so I woke up late and missed my chance to ride some extra time with a friend of mine.
Plan B was to scramble to get myself ready to make it to the shop ride for 8am. Was out the door at 7:30 including scoffing down some instant oatmeal and a banana.
We were a group of 5 then 2 of us split off for some extra miles. Then the other guy I was supposed to meet changed his mind and met us en route and we did the extended loop. I had time after to add an hour solo to round up to 3+ hours. Came home soaking wet from the humidity again and it never rained on us. Glad it stayed cloudy until the last hour.
Lots of flooding out in Califon and long valley there was a pay loader scooping mud off the road when we passed.

Prepped the hard tail and placed it on the car last night for sunrise ride at chimney rock. Slept in and missed my window. Rode out the garage late morning with a loop around Duke Farm.

Left the house during the family's praying for the recently departed (Cultural thing. I think they pray for 9 days or so). Anyway, as I was leaving, I said, "Hey uncle, you've got enough people praying for you here, I'm gonna head to the dirt church." Then, the first thing I see, on the first trail that I get on to (Molly's), is this:
