22. Ken Lockwood to Columbia Trail with @Sven Migot. Was a really nice day for some scenic gravel. Spun out the legs in the beginning then started feeling good about half way in. Finished the ride with an ice cold refreshment while standing in the gorge.

Catching up last 2 days.

7/22 and 7/23
15 and 16 days of 21.
4:02 and 3:39

So being that Martys challenge event (23 hours in 23 days July 1-23 ) ran the same time as this the last 23 days I used this week and weekend to try and improve my standings. The timing was good based on great weather and no family obligations this weekend that would limit my rides too much.

I had to miss the mtbnj lewmo ride because I had already volunteered to lead the road ride since the usual guys are on vacation. We changed it up a little and did the route we use for Turkey Fry event. The morning weather until about 10am felt more like early Sept just cool enough to not overheat but not chilly.
I was determined to get 4 hours which meant some looping around a few times to add time/miles. Legs felt great but I certainly was tired once I was done. I had thoughts of refueling and doing another 30 but that would be pushing it if I wanted to ride Sunday too.

Could not make the Sunday shop ride but was able to somehow drag myself onto the bike later morning. Met a friend who was trying to jump ahead in the challenge also he ended up with 5 hours/90 miles today.

After I dropped him off halfway through my ride I decided I don’t have enough in the tank to try and jump more ahead so the consolation prize was a metric. I don’t think my HR was much out of zone 2 the whole ride was just pedaling higher cadence and taking it easy on any rollers.

End result is 11th out of 27 people who did at least 23 hours. Everyone who did 23 or more eligible for ransom raffle prizes.

I also have to check but I think doing 227 miles in one week is also a PR of some kind.

Afterwards came home today and instead of vaccuming the house like I was supposed to I vacuumed the pool and made sure if was safe.

Still got to be careful I only have 3 “spare” days for this thing or I won’t make 21. This week probably just need to do easy hour rides. Until I recover for next weekend riding.
