Opened this to have with some grilled strip steaks. We have a soft spot for spring mountain cabs. This was still pretty tight and youthful. Loaded with espresso and dirt with green pepper and dark red fruit flavors.

This is one of those wine geek producers, they make all sorts of off the beaten path varietals. This trousseau was all crunchy red fruit with a hint of barn funk. Was ? with some BBQ chicken.

My rule of thumb for bbq wines has been heavier bodied, bold fruit, non-tannic wines like zin blends or its common constituent varietals like PS. So maybe next time dip into you Meomi stash.... ?

Wow, nice!! How was it?? I have a few vintages of both the Carlisle Sonoma County and the Palisades PS’ lying around. Haven’t opened any yet though. Barrel tasted the 2009 or 10 a while back when we visited the winery. Loved it. Now I am thinking I need to start cracking them open.
