Took the mustang out saturday night........winding it up from a traffic light on 10 and suddenly the engine turned off. Thankfully I was right near Joyce honda which had a nicely lit parking lot. Car had fuel, so I figured it was either a wire somewhere, or something ignition related.....confirmed that when I pulled the coil wire...and bingo...no spark. Well whatever, this is why I having free towing on my car insurance and I much rather just get the car home. So I called hagerty....took about 15 minutes to explain to the person on the phone the most basic of things....They were obviously from a call center where English is not typically spoken...but we got thru that. They sent the two truck.....after 90min...still hadnt show up....I check the status and it says the tow truck was on site...WTF???? So finally I get in touch with them again for them to tell me the first tow truck wasnt coming, so they are sending another one....awesome....but now its close to midnight. Second truck came, get the car on......got it into my garage....
Next morning I pulled the distributor cap/rotor to find this.
So im going with the ignition module burnt out.....I installed this in 1999 and have never touched it, so whatever
Funny, I remember when I bought this distrubutor in 1999 (this was before the petronix ones came along) people were like, omg, dont buy that, they always break......25 years, im saying thats not bad.
