What have you done to your bike today?

Finally got my MRP back in the Occam.
Front end feels much higher.
Looks weird too. 150 front and 140 rear.

How do you like the Wren fork? BTW you have a lot of bikes 😁
They're pretty light and stiff, not a big penalty over rigid. Lockout is really good on the fork. Need to ride the bike a few more times with the new tires to dial in the pressure and fork sag.

Lower the stem all the way. Make sure the preload is low enough that you are getting full travel. This setup is common but you might even have to go with a flat bar to make the front end feel grounded.

When I was putting the spacers on I thought wow this is really high. Just need to sort out the pressures now.

I'm betting you're gonna love it, once you get it dialed in.
For sure. The occam has ben so well loved by many.

The new one has been revised in a good way. Unfortunately they ran the cables through the headset, which for me is a automatic disqualifier.

Yeah that's not an upgrade in my opinion.
Maybe on a road bike I can understand that.
Im very happy with my 2021 MY.

You won't even notice after a few rides. I went to 160mm on my bike. It took a little getting used to but helped eliminate the constant pedal strikes. I also like that it slacked the HA to 64º, which helps when I ride the bike park.

Kudos to Orbea. I have beat the crap out of this bike for 3 years with no issues.

The Swizard (That's Swole Wizard) got its first bath today.

After a trip through the fire roads of a damp Allaire the other week, I saw just how...filthy it had gotten. Coupled with a ride down the gravel-y bit of the Henry Hudson today, and it was definitely time.

Replaced the sensor batteries while I was at it. I had actually replaced the speed one the other day, but the battery was bad, apparently. Don't know how people actually ride with the 'GPS' speed.

That thing is stunning. Nice job.

Not today, Friday night I took on the Mukluk long overdue rollback to 26” fat tires and some cleanup in preparation for GFBD 2023.

Wheels swap, using some ultralight tubes from eBay, worked out great.

Drivetrain adjustment woes, the cassette on the fatback hub that came with my 26” wheels is even further back toward the hub center than on the Hope Fatso…so recycled a Hope spacer and it fit perfectly. No more adjusting the derailleur when swapping wheels.

Left the crusty chain alone, will replace after getting even more crunchiness added during the beach ride. In hind side, very happy I did ( or didn’t do) that.

The doozy…I removed some of the heli tape a hastily installed on the bike when I first built it with less than exciting results. Then I decided to replace the aluminum screws that Salsa used all over the frame and fork and broke one of the ones on the fork. I’m still in shock that I was actually able to drill the broken screw off and remove its remnants without cracking the frame…

Added 20mm travel in the front, and 5mm of stroke to the rear shock (est 13mm travel). Removed a token front and back. OneUp carbon bars. Swapped the GX AXS RD for a secondhand X01 AXS (thanks, @Eickelbt!). Travel is pobably a bit out of spec for the frame, but it dropped about a pound and it feels so much more alive. Now I just need some laps to dial in the suspension settings and decide whether I like my token count. Hoping to get myself some new (lighter) wheels for Christmas 🙃 (neglected to take photos while I was working, booooo)
