Hard to see the results but for the 1st time ever trying to apply protective film I am satisfied how it came out.
I just want to protect the main areas of the bike and using the spare strips/rolls I got from a friend I came up with a method to make templates out of paper. Started with the underside of the bottom tube and while
It has a few bubbles here and there it’s good enough to get the job done.
Then I did underneath the top tube. This went on nearly perfect and barely any noticeable bubbles.
The top tube was more tricky to try and line up the seams and cut accurately from the piece underneath. I probably should have done the top first so the seam was lower and more under the top tube. but it’s also good enough for now. The pieces I had to work with were only about 4” wide so I made it work.
Finishing up a piece for the NDS chainstay since the drive side has the factory clear chainstay cover already.
Longer term I will buy a wider roll and fix it up better now that I feel like I can do it myself.
Meantime it’s finally time to ride this thing this weekend (after I charge the battery of course LOL)
