"Official" BIYF 2016-2017 thread

I recall reading about that. I've never gone searching, but I've been on that stretch of the Long Path, so I must have been close.

Yeah I've come across your tracks more than once there.....Ive found an old cracked safe, and some tombstones from an unmarked cemetery........Have you ever gone to the Boeing 727 crash site? It's off of pine meadow road near beaver pond Creek. Always wanted to check it out. A plaque was put up recently and the wreckage still remains some 40 years later....I wanted to get to the orak ruins today but had to turn around, ran out of time......

Opted to go to the gym with my girlfriend. I ran one mile and lifted some weights. Hopefully I can move tomorrow.

Zero Points.

I'm staring out the window at sunshine and near 60 degrees. Why aren't I riding? This damn work thing is once again interfering with my play time. May actually have to go to the gym tonight. SUCKS!

Went to the boeing 727 flight 6231 crash site today. The plane crashed on dec 1st, 1974. It departed JFK and was headed to buffalo to pick up the baltimore colts. All three crew members perished that day; the captain, 1st officer, and 2nd officer. Rather eerie on this damp, overcast day, without a person for miles. Significant amounts of the plane are still scattered about. At the foot of the memorial, there is a pretty large pile of aircraft parts......RIP gentlemen.....

From your Strava file, I see you found it between Old Turnpike and the Long Path. I'll have to go check it out.

Sureal but satisfying day
1. Weather, topped out around 70
2. Almost hit a gaggle of wild turkeys (before today, I never saw them at allaire)
3. Turbine cranks came loose and the only guy in the lot happened to have the Allen key (thanks again)
4. Later on, stopped by the car and met two cool dudes and ended up having a beer with them mid ride.
5. Went exploring and found a great loop I never expected to be so good
6.Did I mention the weather

Very easy to locate, especially with no foliage.....Right were that road splits (camp winaki road on Google maps), stay left on the dirt road, maybe 50 yards on the dirt road, it'll be on your left.....You can actually see the trail blazes for the long path trail....
