Music

1st thing I see this morning!!! YEAH!! :getsome::getsome:

DREAM THEATER’S “PROGRESSIVE NATION 2008”
featuring OPETH, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and 3

Wed & Thurs May 21st & 22nd - New York, NY - Terminal 5

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, between the buried and me. The only thing i don't like about dream theater is their vocalist (same with btbam). their instrumentals are super solid tho.

This is great music after a ride....Nice and relaxing

time for some music.....

and just when you thought you have heard & seen everything...I bet you weren't ready for this.

What do you get when you combine Disco Balls, Hot Señoritas, Metal, Face Paint & and Electric Violin :hmmm:

Turisas

turisas was so last year😛, battle metal was a great album tho. i'm not to keen on their new one.

as far as folk metal goes... heathenreel by elvenking is the best that genre has to offer. unfortunatly elvenking has come no where close to matching heathenreel with their following 3 albums.

"Live After Death" (1985) does it for me...it has 'Maiden's most "kick ass" music (IMO) from the early 80's on it...

Ah, 'Maiden is always good for high school flashbacks... 😉

I would agree that the better range of stuff will be anything before 1990. Thats the stuff that put Iron Maiden on the map. I was just looking at the discography and couldnt pick one specific album. I recently bought "Best of the Beast" which is pretty much a greatest hits disc that has most of the big songs. I went on a tear at Vintage Vinyl one day and bought alot of older metal stuff.

Iron Maiden's self titled for me. Of course it was considered more PUNK than metal.

Ska - Maiden...Think about it...

i would start with their first self titled record. put it on, crank it to 11, and be blown away by IMO one of the greatest debut records out there. from "Prowler" to "Iron Maiden" you wont be dissapointed. work your way up from there. UP THE HAMMERS!!!

I'm partial to Finntroll. Yes the video is cheesy, but this shit is catchy as hell. Gotta love the whole viking/folk/pagan scene. Very metal.

Maiden!!! somebody said Maiden???? :getsome::getsome:

Yep, Live After Death will kick your arse....as a matter of fact they are touring right now recreating the whole stage & production from that era (mid 80's)

You can't go wrong with anything pre 90's like Walt said...after that, a couple of so-so efforts but I really enjoy the last 3 albums as well.

the Classic has to be NUMBER OF THE BEAST!!

Crappy footage from Maiden in my hometown this past Feb
Can't wait for March 14th!!

Not a fan of the Blaze Bayley era? Those were some dark years for Maiden fans....
