Would of had a long walk back if not for Mattyb 3rd from right and Bill from Marty's, last on right. I know there were at least 2 other Jersey SSer's in that line up.
Rob -
I felt strong and was flying down one of the downhills when my right pedal/crank got frozen stuck on a stump or rock resulting in my bike torquing and throwing me sideways through the air. I landed hard with my breath knocked out of me. 😱
It's unfortunate that it's private land because i'd love to go back there again. Anyone who thinks this place is too far - suggest you put it on next year's race schedule.
MR
I was one rider behind you and witnessed your fall. I couldn't figure out what took you down. I was trying to find a cellphone to call the medics. When someone that knew you stopped and said they would stay, I went on and told the first official I saw. I'm glad to hear that you just had the wind knocked out of you, becuase from my angle it looked like you smacked your back into the tree and were going to be needing a back board.
Kudos for finishing.
Thanks Mick - So did I at least look graceful in the air? :hmmm:
Thanks again for stopping - I really appreciated the many racers who stopped to make sure I was okay. As can be imagined I'm a bit sore today but I'm glad I did the race and pushed on through
Sounds like a bad crash! glad your ok.
