Conditions?

Rode this afternoon 11/28. A lot of the trail was a slippery mess. Looks like the freeze/thaw cycle has started and it'll be tricky getting good conditions now.

I have been out digging almost every day this week.

It is nearly worthless on a bike right now.

Consider that the ruts you are leaving behind may be frozen solid for the rest of the winter at this point.

Try to ride when the temps are below freezing if you can.

If you got out when it is 40 degrees out, you will return to the lot with a 50 lb bike.

Just got back from some trail digging. Working on a pump section that is getting super flowy.

Remember that it is freeze / Thaw season.

Do what you can to stay off the trails when it goes above freezing.

Rode six mile today. It was a little slick in some ereas but no deep mud except by the entrance to the new very long bridge.

The blue trail towards the end, or beginning, by the open field is a frost-rutted disaster. Talk about ruined. Otherwise its quiet enjoyable,

WHEN FROZEN.

That whole section was bad. The ruts were deep and there was a lot ...we must have been a nice warm, sunny day some time this past week because It wasn't like that last thursday

Really good conditions for XC skiing and snowshoeing.

Watch closely to the wintry mix predicted for Tues the 18th. This may make for perfect studded tire conditions.

I am mounting my studded tires up today in hopes that this happens.

My guess would be no as well but I don't think anyones tried to ride it since Dec 26th.

There were two sets of tracks from last Sunday.

They rode from Canal going east on the Red trail.

Looked pretty slow going but passable. We were on XC skis.

The ice/rain/ super cold that is coming should make it an ice fest.

It may be ok w/ studs. w/o should be trouble.
