Chimney Rock Conditions

There is a 5K/10K race here tomorrow from 9AM - 12PM. May want to avoid parking at ballfields/gravel lot at those times. Looks like they'll be running at ballfield trails, orange and yellow.

Lost Sunglasses on Yellow Trail: my buddy lost a pair of blue sunglasses on the yellow trail yesterday. The section is "Lemon Twist " on Strava. It's the flowy trail from Millers Lane to the eastern side of the four way intersection.
Please let me know if spotted. Thanks!

Multiple trees down on White.
In the yellow circle area.
Chain saw required.
It was so windy tonight. I'm not surprised.

Rode the last 2 days, same route, same time, and it feels like the leaf coverage more than doubled in 24 hours. They coming down FAST.

Yeah. Yellow is 3-4” deep in spots. I rode every day this week and yesterday they just started coming down like mad.

I find the conditions a bit better with the leaves mixed in. Odd that.

If u know the trails conditions are quite nice…if you don’t u can easily lose the trail in spots!

New reroute is riding nice!!

Lots of little blow downs scattered around the park this morning. I was able to clear most of what I came across. A few stragglers:

Someone should trim the spear off of this, I didn’t have a saw with me this morning. This is on the guardrail climb, right side when descending:

Red lower connector, this can probably just be pulled off the trail with 2 people:

Arbor Way connector just off the new reroute:

The rollers on the bottom of the North side of blue have new branches strewn all over the place. Looks deliberate. Also tons of leaves down but that’s not deliberate. Just needs to be blown clean and toss the branches away.

Someone trashed the rollers on blue.
This was done by the rangers. It was an illegally built trail. That said, I thought we had come to a semi-agreement years ago that it would remain open as the alternative/original trail is really terrible. I let it be known that some would not be happy and remove the closure. I'm working on a solution here that will make most happy.
