Allamuchy North Conditions

i live near and after trudging to my shed in the snow it was still up to my knees in most of my back yard. I would say some areas may show dirt but still a lot of snow coverage.

My running group just ran the Byram trail into Mooch from 206. Stay away the trail we ran still had about 6-8 inches of wet snow on it. It was so bad that even after we got to and ran the road around Jefferson lake we could even get on the continuation of the Byram Trail that dump onto Sussex Branch.

Riding from the Tranquility lot is good to go. I only encountered water/mud in the few spots that alway have water on Orange, Purple, and White. White had the most water on it on the section from intersection with Purple and the parking lot. The streams are flowing really good and in a few spots have overflowed onto the trail. So tread lightly through those spots and you should be fine. This report only applies to this route: http://app.strava.com/activities/126335721

Kept it rather simple yesterday. A few typical wet spots along Wavin’ Willy trail with some blow down that hasn't been cleared 100% from last year. Ice Cream was dry and fun!! White heading back towards the Sussex Branch had a few moist spots as well with a tree down….somewhere….can’t remember exactly. Water crossings are flowing very heavy...difficult to keep your feet dry. Needs another week of dry’ish weather before the masses can come out to play.

I need a lil better on the tree locations please😀

There is an 8-10" tree down near the bottom of the cardiac switchbacks, not too bad since it is laying flat. The annoying one is on the top the white trail climb, right before the intersection with purple.

North is still a muddy mess, especially the Green/Willies trail from the park n ride. Some hub deep mud holes. Also White before bypass has some muddy rivers taking over the trails. Made some nicks and cleared some leaves to get some water running but the quads have turned it into a double river.

Some more mud holes over on White by Ice Cream. North needs some love!

The Ice Cream mudhole is one of my OG favs! It's been awhile since i've seen it at full tilt. Oh, the times we had..................

The smell of urine in the spring time

hey so I ripped around the cardiac side of allamuchy north yesterday for the first time...had my a.. kicked a little but over all had a great time and can't wait to go back....one thing though...there is a devastating smell of piss in the air...when I was getting ready in the lot I thought oh maybe I just parked in a strange spot but I smelt it eeeeeverywhere from the bottom to the top of cardiac....guessing its some vegetation but like ive said before I grew up around there and never noticed a smell in that especially in that wide of a range

I've noticed the same.. At first thought it was bear, because I saw one, but then thinking maybe it's ferilizer from Tranquillity farms?

Was there yesterday on the Sussex Branch side...no smell (so maybe pedals is right) and trails were mint. Only wet spots were near the streams.

Thanks to whoever cleaned lumpy bumpy and the nearby trails. Things are drying out very nicely. Dans trail has so many leaves on it felt like I was on skis going down it. If only the yahoo on the moto would stop peeling out in random places in the trail...

Yeah, Lumpy is riding very nicely. Some others have alot of leaves, but nothing too bad. Definitely some noticeable mx/atv action on cardiac and the green trail. No worries though. Rode 10-13 miles on Wednesday and Friday this week and never saw another soul (minus a couple bears). North = ( * )( * )

Great conditions today. However, I would stay off of candy ass for a little bit; the overgrowth is horrible in a couple spots on it, with two large trees down. Other than that, mooch was in prime condition today.

Rode today, and right when I started riding on the sussex branch trail it started to pour. The lower lying trails were pretty wet, but after the climb up it was surprisingly dry. Actually a damn nice ride! The rock faces were slippery though....🙁😡

trail name

whats the name of the trail that parallels ice cream and also dumps out onto white? rode sat morning and that is an awesome and technical trail!
