Went exploring. Found some gravel. Found some trails. Didn’t get hit by an SUV. Overall a successful ride!

I see the "bridge to DE" in the background. Did you see any naked people at Higbees Beach?
Nope. It was a nude beach back in the 80s, is it still 🤷🏻‍♀️? The side with the ferry channel (where I was) is mostly folks shore fishing. There are a couple tree-ed trail entrances that are mostly likely where the naked peeps go.

Ride #12

Went to Nassau hoping to avoid the heat. It's that time of year when your non-riding friends ask "when did you get a cat?" Wear long sleeves if you ride there anytime soon.

My photo today is the Springside trail entrance off on Nassau road. The large Trails Closed sign has been removed, but a concrete barrier has been set in place about 100ft up the trail. It has an opening that is just narrow enough for pedals to hit. I'm assuming this is to deter bicycles. I haven't been there is a while so this might be old news.

Marty’s Wednesday night DM Bikes and BBQ night. The heat and humidity wasn’t as bad as last week at first but it was worse at the end.

Felt so much better and in control this week than last week and finally made it around the top of Marty’s trail without putting my foot down after several tries. Cleared some of the rocks that I don’t normally make it. Got some more PRS so I feel like I am making progress each week.

Celebrated with a hot dog a burger and a sausage and some Recovery drinks so whatever calories I burned I probably put back x2.

Legs felt heavy, lungs felt fine. Losing weight. Fitness is definitely increasing since my nightly resting heart rate is dropping back into levels that I used to see pre kids. Saw Nelson tonight and he’s starting to mend. I’m seriously debating giving wilderness 101 a go after talking with him. I need to visit my grandparents soon and it would be a good excuse since they live right there. I wanna go on a big ride this weekend and see if it’s possible. https://strava.app.link/r29qQPWfoBb

(8/31) Special delivery to Mom.

I just realized that I just made it based on the Strava. I paused my Garmin when I stopped at moms, and I thought I had enough moving time cause it was like an 1:05 when I got home. Guess I squeaked by only even if it was 36 seconds.
