Didn’t think I would ride today but with all the BS at work and no meetings and a friend texting it was time to go. We decided gravel bike and rail trails were better to avoid the sun since no avoiding the 1000% humidity during lunchtime.

We made our way via Morris greenway and hit a little trail near Chester with this awesome bed of pine needles and single track. Was a short section but fun and we have ridden past it a million times and never explored it before.

Legs are dead now tho need a rest day after some big rides last weekend. Kudos to all you 31 day riders.

12/31 Had the rare opportunity to ride on a Tuesday afternoon and decided to go for it despite the threatening forecast. Hot as hell at the start but the weather held off long enough for me to get a proper 6 Mile spray tan. Took a nice picture at the anal bridge 😉

Was planning on riding after work, but looked at the forecast and decided to get a lunch ride in instead. Kept the mileage low and slow, and opted for sessioning a few of the Dickerson skinny offerings and a few areas of the trails that consistently give me trouble. Definitely made some progress and found some better lines. Not a lot of strava medals today, but it should pay off for the next ride

I'm in the same area, and ride the W Morris Greenway a bit, especially lately. Like Zoolander though, never gone left at the end. Looks like a pretty cool trail, definitely going to have to check it out

11/20 - Ride #1 - Trying to beat the storm...

Looking at the radar just before I started, I thought there was a chance I could get an hour in before the line of thunderstorms reached me. Not really wanting to get all that wet, I stayed fairly close to home and figured on finishing off the hour with laps around my neighborhood. With 5 min to go, big drops started hitting me, so I called it and figured I'd finish off the hour after the line passed.

I mean... with all that green heading towards me, seemed like a good call, no?

Well... no. Other than a few drops, so got nothing. So, while I waited, I ate dinner and didn't bother getting undressed.

resulting in, 11/20 - Ride #2.

Hopefully my legs will feel decent enough to ride dirt tomorrow.

Day 12: Most of the Rock(s)

After the big Vermont trip this past week, I've been a total dog at work the first 2 days of the week. This is totally understandable, of course. Yesterday was expected, but today was a drag I was not ready for. With 8 client-facing calls today, I had no choice but to get my ass in gear. After the last one, I headed over to CR to do a fairly full lap of the park. I was solo for this one, which is a first in the last 2 weeks (or more) of riding. I just put it in overdrive and kept pedaling for 2 straight hours. My only stops were 2 road crossings and to take my picture of the day.

I did not set any land speed records but I kept the wheels moving which I find is of paramount importance in these temps. 3 bottles in 2 hours and then called it a day. I am still tired but feeling pretty good overall.

Day 12 of 31
Got home and jumped on the bike thinking today would be two local rides interrupted by rain and dinner. Looped around the neighborhood a few times saying hello to the same people a couple of times. Only a few drops of rain and home in time for dinner made by the kids.
