2022 31/31 Ride daily for bragging rights and a reward. TM / Jorba / MtbNJ /

July 13

Procrastinated all day; figured I'd roll down to the beach for sunset and then just knock around for an hour. Saw a friend and ended up bullshitting long enough to let the sun slip below the horizon before I got to the beach.
The sky was still beautiful though. Full moon was also beautiful, but my phone can't seem to do moon pics.

The ride was uneventful, although I was seemingly buzzed by at least 6 crazy landscaping trucks that seemed unaware of the empty trailers they were pulling.

Today I headed southwest along the top of Schooley's Mountain Ridge.

My turn-around point was near the Teetertown Preserve and Crystal Springs Preserve in Lebanon Twp.

This is a new (circa 2021) Romanian Orthodox Church. The exterior and roof shingles are wood. The church looks like log-cabin construction, with lots of interesting carvings and other wood craftsmanship. It has a cool stone foundation, and the area always seems to have vibrant flowers and plantings.

I have several pic of that place being built. It was all done by hand with wood imported from somewhere in Europe. The pics don’t do it Justice.

One of my daughters woke me around 2 AM and typically I can fall back asleep instantly however the mind started racing and I laid there until maybe 345 and my alarm is set for 4:15. So it was a little sluggish getting out this morning. Did a core/nesh loop mainly because I wanted to recon the trails for NICA practice tonight, which is the first practice of the season and is going to be chaos.
Core is in pretty damn good condition and I rode Nesh second and it was a slow lap because the humidity or missing that sleep or completely destroying the rest I had from vacation. In any case, always good to get out.
