2013/2014 XC Ski Thread

Definetly interested.

Re checkking my skis they are actually 189s. What size are yours?

Another option is I see fischers new outback 68s on sale for $180. I should be able to use my old bindings, right?

175s and yes

You should try the epoxy and steel wool I've stripped out binding screws and epoxied them and they haven't loosened up since. Clamp down the binding when gluing them to make sure it stays tight. If you decide to through them out anyway I'll take them.

I don't get down to that area too often but if you want to come up and grab em you can have em.

Alternativly I have the box that my new skis came if so if you want to pay for shipping I can drop them in the mail

with this snow, cold temps and some more show possibly coming this weekend it should be good.

Can't wait to try out the new sticks

I'll try to get up there sometime to take a look at them, or if your interested I'll be skiing Hartshorne for as long as this snow lasts. Its a fun place to ski some nice hills and not too many rocks to hit. I'm thinking the snow here should last a while there is over a foot here already.

For those interested in trying xc skiing you can rent skis at Thompson Park in Lincroft.

They do set tracks to ski in, which will be a big plus considering the amount of snow we are getting. Trying to ski in fresh snow over 5" deep is not really xc skiing but rather out back treking.

Scroll to the bottom of the link for xc ski rental and trail grooming info. They should have tracks set by tomorrow afternoon.

Just a heads up that we seemed to have gotten less snow up north. They are calling it 9 inches, but now that it has settled, it is more like 5 and very light, so it will not cover well. I will probably just ski the botanical gardens at Ringwood if I stay local.

Good condtions at Thompson today, got 10 miles in on the groomed trails skiing classic. With the cold temps the snow should be around for awhile, get out and and enjoy it. They rent at Thompson.
