Garmin Edge 200

Yo AM you can have my forerunner 410 in exchange for another mtb lesson. Getting the 810 on tuesday. I'm keeping the heart monitor tho.

Your best bet is a 705.... spend the extra $ and make it back by cutting other stuff out. I had one for 2 years no problems at all. (Changed out the battery once) but it was very good and very useful. Might be able to get a new one for cheap since ppl are using the 510 810 and 800.

You can't put a price on making a ride that goes places you've never been before and you don't have to worry about being lost. I made a file last night that was 50 miles of unfamiliar roads the ride went from my place up and around Sterling Forrest in NY and back.

What does a battery replacement cost?

Nice route .. I would take Otterhole or Skyline next time to avoid the hell on Route 511. And clockwise is probably better.

Burnt Meadow on your road bike is pretty hardcore :getsome: Give Stonetown Rd a try.

Burnt meadow was cool but got gnarly for a RB but then cool again.

Dave the new battery cost $25 on Newpower99.com or some shit. It was easy to install too. They give you the tool you need to take out the tiny torx screws

My understanding is that you need at least the 500 to follow courses.

I have the 500 and my wife the 800.
The 500 is fine for navigation on roads, but terrible navigation in the woods.
800 works awesome for navigation on roads, or woods, especially if you load it with the park maps.

Thats very sweet of you, but certainly not necessary! I am happy to help anyone out with tips, not that I am a good rider, but I love to encourage people when it comes to riding.

:hmmm: need to check the weather for today...I am longing for a good ride...

Mr. C, I appreciate your advice, but anything over $200 is not in the budget right now. Especially since this is a "want" and not a "need". The offer from Pearl is promising...

Since the 800 is what everyone recommends...but is way over plan right now...maybe I will have to wait till they come out with a 900 version, then the 800 will become cheaper 🙄

:

Pearl offered his up for $200 on the nose. Tell him "$150" Then he'll say "$175" then you say "deal". Don't you watch American Pickers and Pawn Stars? American Pickers is the better of the 2 shows

Exactly. And yeah pickers is better. Many of the items on pawn stars are staged by actors.

I have the 705 and its just fine for what you are looking for. the 800 is the model replacement for the 705, and is a fancy newer model.
