Better early than be sorry SS-Balut! What are you waiting for, pre-reg now and save your spot.

Don't worry JT, I'm checking the number of registrants. I will register before it reaches the 200 mark. 😉 What difference does it make? :hmmm: lol

will I need a jersey?

Glad to find this thread. My girlfriend and I are debating whether or not we should enter this race (Sport category, to be sure!)? I've been riding a SS for a few years now (she even less). We are pretty new to the area and not in touch with the riding community.

Here is how I see it:
Pros: want (need) to make friends; jump start the riding season; have some fun!

Cons:never even been to a bike race, much less in one; haven't sat on my bike since November;getting fat over the winter; don't own a jersey!

Thoughts?

No jersey required...as long as your bike doesn't have gears and you pays your money...you're gtg.

Make like Nike and "Just Do It"...its a great course and a well run show.

And if you've been off the bike for that long bring the chamois butt'r too... 😀....

this is the perfect race for you!
first of all there is a race and a non race going on at the same time! a good portion of the field is out there just to have a lot of fun.
2nd you will get to meet all the cool kids! we all know that they are riding 29'r singlespeeds these days!!!!
3rd its a great course to dip your toes into racing! no heinous climbs, miles of killer singletrack, etc... i might be a little biased....but.....

couple of cons for you
once you do this "race" all else will pale in comparison. except for the darkhorse 40. sign up for that now as well! it will give you a good goal to shoot for!
2nd all other races will seem horribly boring. they won't have kegs on the course, people in costume, unicyclists, fixed gears, etc.....except for maybe the darkhorse 40! have we discussed signing up for that?

so there you have it! have you signed up yet? plus your girlfriend will have a blast and think you are that much cooler cause you convinced her to sign up for such an awesome event!! maybe give her an entry for valentines day? just sayin.......

I have a spare flannel shirt you may borrow for the race. I'll be racing in my other one. 🙂

only flannel shirts are allowed for this event

A flannel? This is the perfect race for me! Okay, I have not heard anything that should deter me from entering. So anybody want to join the Rad Team? Count me in! My girlfriend is in as well, under the condition that I replace her rigid fork with a squishy one. I happily agreed.

Hopefully I will get to know some of you before the race so that I have someone to carry me across the finish line.

Team Flannel?
I'd be interested but I'm already a member of team dickwad.

I can silkscreen some jerseys yo! 😀
I was gonna go with "team truck stop" but I thought that might send the wrong message (and if you're thinkin that I'll slap you into assisted living)
I like "Team Dickwad". It's got some seriousness to it
