Wildlife

I was thinking copperhead too, but I'm sure Capers will set us straight.

Saw them in a pond at Jockey Hollow. On foot, no biking allowed there.

Yeah copperheads are smaller and more colorful. Water snakes are downright nasty

Yeah, Copperheads are vibrant orange. Their pattern resembles oak leaves. In the autumn, they can become almost invisible among the fallen leaves. Really Beautiful animals. I've only seen them in the wild a handful of times. Usually a foot and a half long.

I've seen a few out there - and unfortunately a dead one on a trail on the jersey side of the delaware water gap. No reason to kill any snake out in the wild, even poisonous ones

Saw a 6 ft long rattlesnake at KVSP yesterday, sunning on a large flat rock on the needle climb. Pretty cool.

Why no picture? I saw a huge snake last summer on the gravel road near the needle. I think Robin has a picture of it somewhere.

Rode 6M today. saw this cute fella.

Was an nice ride BTW. And the cute turtle (dinosaur) just made it all the nicer.

Cool - always seem to see critters at 6M. When I rode there tuesday evening I realized why that one segment on white is called "Rabbit run" - they were zipping across left and right - almost nailed one!

:scared:

We moved the turtle oooops dino out of the way, hopefully he avoids getting run over. I actually worry about stuff like that 😱

Same here - especially snakes - I'll catch them and take them into the woods. Box turtles are pretty robust, a bike probably wouldn't do much damage. That bunny tho - different story
