white clay

I would wait for Luke's report before attempting a ride...

EDIT... sorry didn't realize who you were... if she says it's good then it's good 😀

Off this week, so I rode Middle Run today. It was a little muddy in some sections and kind of soft but overall a great ride. Especially Snow Goose -- that trail was pristine. Should only get better from here!

Please take a look at the following link. The state of Delaware wants everyone's input on the master trail plan. As of now, lots of hikers voices are louder than bikers. They want to totally get rid of bikes in White Clay. Take a look and let your voice be heard.

I just briefly glazed through this and it seems like biking is very much integrated in the plan, and eliminating bikes would go against the objectives they're looking to reach (increased recreation opportunities).

I will submit a comment with a more articulate version of that statement within the next few days. How well are the anti-cycling sentiments being received by the overseeing committee?

Hikers want to establish a wildlife preserve at White Clay to keep the bikers out. There are very influential and powerful people who hike around here and they've let the state know what they want. What we, the bikers, have is the state on our side and I think that's what matters.

I was at White Clay and Middle Run for most of the day today and I can officially say go out and have some fun. Trails are at 95% wholesome goodness..

Rode Middle Run again today. Had a blast -- got about 25 miles in on the Misfit with a true 2:1. I don't usually ride that gearing at all on the 29er, but it actually felt like the right gear for Middle Run/White Clay. I was surprised -- I was thinking it would feel heavy and that an 18 would have been better, but I was totally happy with the 16.

And there were a ton of people out riding today -- I've never seen that many people out riding there before. I think I was the only solo rider out there! Everyone else seemed to be in groups of at least 3 or 4.
