Is that the lot for Seeley's Pond picnic spot? Which way would you ride from there? It's been over 20 years since I've ridden there. (I miss SM more tho).

No, it's passed that about 100 feet. From there you can only go east.

That lot is across the street from the Seeleys parking, we used to call it the duck pond area

Thanks, I spent 5 minutes looking at the other Glenside Ave.

Here is a short, incomplete list of where you can park to ride Watchung:

1. The parking spaces on either side of Skytop near the picnic Pavilion.
2. Seeley's Pond parking lot.
3. The small gravel lot just east of there.
4. Any space around the circle that contains the playground.
5. The dirt lot on the east side of WR Tracy Drive north of Surprise Lake.
6. The large paved lot South of Glenside at the northern edge of the Reservation above the Deserted Village.
7. The unpaved lot east of WR Tracy just south of the traffic circle.
8. Trailside center where Coles Ave and Summit Lane meet.
9. The large paved lot between the turf soccer fields and the police training facility south of Glenside toward Summit.

Google maps has a pretty good trail map, but there are better (for example):

I am thinking I may want to pop my head in here on Sunday morn for a looksee....

also thinking a 10mile - ish loop will be enough of a looksee for me. Got to be fresh enough to wear the kids out in the PM.

recommendations for such a loop? parking? coming up from south/west if it makes a difference.

Thanks!

This deserves 20 likes and a sticky, thanks

How about a group ride Sunday AM? Last time there for me was '97 or so. Grew up 5 minutes away and spent a lot of time there.
In, need to be out of woods by 11 tho. I can start as early as 7:30. Unfamiliar with area.

Best lot for you would be the Picnic Pavilion north of Skytop (#1 in my post earlier) which is 0.4 miles west of the intersection of Glenside and Skytop.

Here is a track from today that doesn't venture Southwest of Skytop and misses quite a bit of trail:

One of the guys had a flat, slowing us down.
