This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

Yeah that’s kind of my point, not sure what difference it makes or how long it even lasts. We shall see.

well the big difference is these variants that are in the news should be covered by the C19 vaccine.
We are going to do a multi-billion dose experiment to see how long it lasts. Best we can do with the info we have.
hopefully it doesn't go off the rails, unless it grows leg muscles.

Got a feeling it is going the way of the flu - the at-risk population gets a yearly booster along with the flu shot.
everyone else is whatevs.

How does this compare to a flu shot? You can get the vaccine but still get the flu and pass it around, just a lower chance of dying?
I'll take the lower chance of dying. No one in the studies that had the vaccines had severe covid complications, and only a few had mild symptoms, no deaths. Control groups had deaths and severe symptoms of covid.

this is actually interesting. the idea is the corona virus vaccine is a vaccine to take care of multiple variants.
the flu vaccine picks the most likely strains to spread, and it is specific to them.
very cool.

neither are 100% effective - so there is that.

Not really, the flu vaccine contains multiple strains and is basically a guess as to which will dominate that season. Covid vaccine is specific to covid-19.

what did i say? C-19 and its variants - they are testing now, but The Fauci is hopeful - it isn't a generic corona virus vaccine (grail)

Just saw on local news Tampa General hospital is recruiting subjects for the Novamax vaccine. Gonna be a tough task now (they especially want people over 65) - why volunteer now, have a 50/50 chance of getting placebo, and then can't get an actual vaccine for 2 years??

m stands for modifier?

anyway, news out of LA county wasn't good. serious triage.
