The titanium bike thread

Sweet. Too bad they weren't around when I was shopping for a Ti hard tail. Looks sweet.
Thanks @tonyride. Think maybe I’ll change the name of this thread to post a pic of your titanium hardtail after I complete my build. Since there aren’t enough hardtail threads already😂. Please post a pic of yours if you get a chance. Would be curious to see what you utilized on your build.

Here's mine. It's a Sonder Signal Ti 29er with GX Eagle drive, 130mm Pike Ultimate fork, OneUp bar and dropper, Guide R 4 pot brakes.

Going to put the custom i9 Hydra on Stans wheels. Threw on new Santa Cruz Reserve Fillmore stems($50.00 for a set). First time trying out a Maxxis Forkaster (29 2.6 will be on the front) and a Rekon 29 2.4 on the rear for now. May go up to either a 2.5 or 2.6 on the rear after I get to know the handling dynamics.

Building this as a trail bike for North NJ.

Had to take one more frame pic before building it cause it’s so 🤩😍

TPS on those stems?
I wish. And for the $$$$$ those stems should fill themselves. I do have to say that it was easy to seat the tire as the Fillmore stems pass through much more air than a standard stem. Not recommended for everyone but for people that change their tubeless tires often and with a floor pump, I see it as an investment. Plus I check my air pressure every time I ride so I wear standard valves out often

Thinking about the mk4 rims?

Thinking about the mk4 rims?
Hey @stb222 🤘. MK3 on the front and EX3 on the rear with heavy duty spokes. Heavy but sturdy. I could build this bike light but already have my DV9 set up x country. Decided to build this with a beefy wheelset. I had these custom built for my Hightower last year but didn’t get much use, so am tossing them on the Nitrous. I see the MK4 was introduced this summer. MK4 is a nice progression. What are you currently running on your 5010?

Methinks that 5010 is last year’s bananas.

I just built up i9’s on mk4 flow, like them so far.

So that means my son inherits my old wheels, project 321 hubs on arch mk3 front and spank rim in the rear (I cracked the mk3 after a lot of miles). He is also in my 5010 and I moved to a pivot Mach 5.5

Congrats on an awesome bike @stb222. DW link on the Pivot is super efficient. Your son has to be excited about getting the 5010 as that is a great bike.

Hi Vic,
As A Hardtail Hardcore Myself I'm So happy for you,

Enjoy your New Mean Machine😊👍

(I love All Your Builts Choices,Beyond Bling Bling)

Happy Trails Vic.!
Thanks @liong71er some of the components are inspired by sturdy bling you have on some of your bikes(i9 for example). Figure if your bikes hold together based on all of the miles(and hard miles) you ride, got to copy ah I mean borrow your build choices😁🤘

So finally completed the Turner Titanium hardtail build. Initial impression, more stable than my DV9 but no surprise as the DV9 is more old school geo and the Turner more modern Geo. I built it as a north NJ trail bike but it’s still fast as…. Even though there is a long head tube the chain stay is short enough that’s it’s still a good wheelie bike. No surprise that the frame is very compliant but am surprised on how efficient it pedals!

LOVE everything about this build!!!!!! 👏

Yes! Been waiting for the update. Looks sexy! What size tire can you fit in the back? I know it's supposedly a more XC than trail kinda frame.
