27.5+ x 2.8 measured width 2.765" after 3 rides DIA 28 3/8" on a 40mm (inside) rim.

27.5 x 2.35 measured width 2.363" after season of riding on a 21mm (inside) rim.

The Nobby Nic's are great tires. I have also seen the Rocket Ron 27.5+ x 3.0 on a 40mm rim, it is noticeably wider, I assume it shares the same carcass as a 3.0 Nobby Nic. I like the more aggressive tread pattern Nobby Nic.

Surprisingly it seems like a much bigger casing and not just more rubber. The jump from 2.8 to 3 seem more than the numbers would allow for.

Wonder if the knobby nics are like the wtb tires, huge difference between the 2.8 trailblazers and bridges 3.0 not only in width but also in over all diameter. The trailblazer is only slightly bigger in diameter from a standard 2.4 mountain king but the Bridger is almost the same as a 29er minion in diameter

The weight here is the downfall. This is the heaviest bike I own outside my DH bike. It rides light and that is always a plus, but a carbon version of this will be welcome.

Any idea what that weight is? What size did you go with?

Has anyone rode a beast of the east.../ or spoke to someone who has? Im intrigued by the 27.5+
Just wanted to hear impressions of how the bike rode/handled

You could also swap out the rims and also run the bike with a 29er wheelset? Thanks for the quick response, this may be my next bike.

You could 100% run 29er wheels on this and most every bike made for 27.5 x 3" tires.

Here is the thing.. I don't think you would want to. I am a 29er guy and have been for a long time, but this 27+ thing has really messed with my head.

You get the rollover and familiar 29er feel, but you also get some other stuff. Traction for miles. Places where you would 2 wheel drift a 29er, you find yourself shocked that the tires are stiff gripping. You can climb stuff that you would have not even tried in the past. And the biggest surprise it that you want to jump everything in sight.

I spend a ton of time on a KTM woods bike, and this format feels more like a dirtbike than any other bicycle I have ever ridden. In fact i am going even wider on the bars so it feels more like the 800mm bars I ride on the moto.

Ben T borrowed this last week and he and I both agree that this format makes a fatbike useless in all conditions but snow. I know I will get some heat from that, but I believe it. You get all the good feeling a fat bike brings but forget the bad.

I am eager to ride a 27.5+ DH bike. Yep.

I knew this was gonna be winner from the get go. I rode jdogs 29+ for a solid 2 weeks and loved the tire size ( casing). When I first heard the B+ was coming it was a no brainier. I said from the beginning that this format is gonna hit enduro and DH bikes. Get ready for the on slaught because it's a game changer.

Jay this is interesting. So you think on the horsethief I should start right out the gate with 27.5 x 3?

I think we should have a 27+ wheelset ready. With that bike coming with 29r wheels it would be hard to resist trying both setups.

On my most recent ride, the other guys I was with wanted to try my bike. This gave me the chance to try 29 and 27+ back to back. I was very happy to get my bike back.
