The Guitar Player Thread.

Unfortunately I'm not outside enjoying the beautiful weather out there today. Working in the home office all day. Had some fun piecing this together at lunch time. I wrote this a few nights ago. Guitarmonies with some swing. Moving around the house every so often for a change of scenery and acoustics - ha!

Check it!

couple minutes of smile right there....

Can someone recommend beginner instructors local to me? For two kids who have played voila and piano for a few years

Didn't feel like leaving the house yesterday. So i sat in and jammed most of the day. I usually don't spend much time making these, but It took me a long time to stitch this one together. Getting all the changes and different parts to line up was a bitch. Especially in the inferior iMovie app...Lots of fun though.

I bought a Cajón last week and been messing around with it. I also decided to buck up and spring for this USA Made Fender Jazz Bass.

I wrote this funky tune last week. Some Bow-chicka-bow-wow for Valentines Day. Check it:

Not sure if I posted this yet? Some fusiony BS. Bunch of Mode and Scale switching while trying to not play all the notes. There is a blistering fast run into a quick arpeggio sequence at about the 3 minute mark. This is something I've been working on. Doing a very fast run on the low 3 or 4 strings and then sweeping the top 3. It feels really weird in your picking hand.

I love playing electric guitar but when I'm jamming around the house, the acoustic always wins. I can play it anywhere - In the yard, in the shed, on the deck or on the throne... Don't need to be near my amplifier. I'm ADD so I like to move around a lot anyway.

Here's a little number I put together today. A gypsy bluegrass swing thing in A minor.

Been rockin' out but haven't come up with too much more than licks here and there. Getting back into my groove. This has one of those run things into a sweep that I've been working on.

From this morning's jam session. Some good old fashioned shred. Pretty good fingers this morning. The opening fast as fuck position changing arpeggio lick is silly. Not sure if it comes across just how hard that is to play.

I need your input on this guitar. My boss is selling his guitar to me but i dont have any experience in this kind of guitar. Its an epiphone les paul custom thats says on it but its an SG guitar. I know theres some info in the interweb but i want your knowledge to those who had an epi before. Thanks so much!

Looks like a G-400. I had an Epi Les Paul 7 for a few months but couldn't get into it. Really thick neck and heavy. Sick tone though for bluesy or classic rock kinda stuff. I know I'd hit that middle pickup all the time while picking.

Likewise. I did hit that middle pick up while noodling with it. You're right, classic rockish tone. Thanks!

ha. i was going to say what jim said about the tone. Definitely more of a classic rock guitar. I always think of Angus Young when I see or hear an SG...

Iv'e played a bunch of these before, in fact my Sister has the Gibson version and I was nodding on it the other day. Sounds fantastic but personally I did not like the feel at all. Too small and light for me.

Funny - My preference is the exact opposite of @jimvreeland. I prefer heavy guitars with thick, chunky necks.

Guitar looks great though. Hope you enjoy it!
