This was happening in 2020/2021 for my company. Our suppliers were basically 30 days, MAYBE. Combined with not knowing when things would show up.Coming next: Items will be listed at "market price" like lobster on a restaurant menu. When I did quotes for my woodworking business, I'd state that prices were good for 30 days. Would need to be 30 minutes these days.
EAAAAAAASY big fella, inconvenient facts aren't always appreciated in these convos! Not taking sides here at all....but can someone explain why when Canada imposes a tariff on the US, everyone is totally fine with it....When US imposes a tariff on Canada, everyone loses their freaking mind?

So first off...its probably important to remember that in 2018 Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, and has since touted as “the best trade deal ever made.”.....any Tarriffs Canada has/had were negotiated by Trump in that deal....either changed or left in place. Not taking sides here at all....but can someone explain why when Canada imposes a tariff on the US, everyone is totally fine with it....When US imposes a tariff on Canada, everyone loses their freaking mind?
This. And Trump says it's because of Fentanyl coming across the border. True for Mexico, where border patrol seized 21,000 lbs last year. But Canada? 43 lbs. @cfrone1 - Do you have a particular Canadian tariff to discuss? So first off...its probably important to remember that in 2018 Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, and has since touted as “the best trade deal ever made.”.....any Tarriffs Canada has/had were negotiated by Trump in that deal....either changed or left in place.
The Tariffs Trump likes to mention like Dairy products for example.....You just hear about 298% tariffs....But it has tariff-rate quotas....So they only enact the Tariffs after we send X amount into their market...which apparently we never do. We have the same rules for Canada sending its Dairy products to us....And it makes sense...it is in any nations strategic interest to try and protect its farmers. All nations do this...why imported cheese is so goddam expensive.
Sure. But that's kind of like saying the Federal Government only can legally interfere when interstate commerce is involved. Whatcha gonna do, sue?I might be wrong, but president can only impose tariffs if it's related to national security. Is that correct?
I was thinking more like a petulant toddler. We are quite literally watching what happens when a 12 year old runs the country.
A 12 year old who has gone through bankruptcy 6 times. He thinks someone is going to make his mistakes go away.We are quite literally watching what happens when a 12 year old runs the country.
He will be stoked when it goes up at some point in the next 3.5 years “never seen a climb like this ever, it was an amazing climb”
